CB/Return Specialist ?

Javier Arenas is a midrounder IMO. I also think he's a pure zone guy because he lacks long speed. However, he attacks downhill really well and is really physical. I like him a lot.

A guy for the late rounds that I've watched play and felt that he had some talent to work with is Sherrick McManis of Northwestern.

I drafted him for the Colts in the mock we did in this forum. I see him as an ideal fit for them. Zone guy, physical, good tackler, good run support guy. I'm not sure he's an ideal fit for us though since we use more man schemes.

Problem with taking a Cb for Kr duty is that limits their value in offensive packages, for example the Kr is typically the #2 or #3 or even the #4 Wr and they have sub packages that they play in.

A Cb is either that, or a Nickel, but either one is to valuable to use on Kr duties as well as playing.

A guy to watch imho is Trevard Lindley of UK, he is a track guy but has had a poor predraft period

Lindley can be a good nickel IMO but he has had injuries.

I think he is a good candidate for one of those later round picks Alen.

But strategically, a Cb/Kr doesn't make alot of sense which is why there are very few of them in the NFL.

The problem with LeRoy Vann is despite of the Devin Hester comparisons, he really isn't THAT fast, he ran a 4.5.

Ditto Kelvin Rogers, whenever I look at the small college players the first thing I notice is their speed and quickness numbers a small college player really needs to be upper echelon in those measurables because they will be quite raw when it comes to playing in the NFL and their only edge is speed...they gotta have it.

Agreed on Arenas. Guy is a fantastic punt returner.

Alen who was the small Northeastern college kick/punt returner who was dominant?

I've forgotten his name, but he played at one of those small new england colleges.

Northeastern? Not really sure, brother. I know of Northwestern and its Sherrick McManis, who I mentioned in an earlier post.

And not "Northeastern" as in the college, but the Northeast were there are all of those small colleges with football programs, like Maine.

Personally, I'd be more apt to take a flier with one of our 7ths on someone like Brandon Banks, Trindon Holliday, or Brandon James. The FO tends to like those niche-type players.

I agree, but that's why I have him as a 6th rd pick (in my mock). He'd be the #4/5 CB (depending on what we do with Will Allen) and returner.

And could ride Jason Allen out of Miami, Lindley had a high grade going into the 09 season, we need a nickel back with Nate Jones leaving.

Terrel Skinner makes sense as well, to me he fits what Irish did in Dallas by bringing in Courtney Brown, 200 pds, 4.5/4.4 40.

And we already have Ryan Grice Mullen, Kory Sheets and Tristan Davis on the roster.
