I don´t get to watch much college football Im watching the michigan game and Henne looks good seems like he has a terrific arm. Do you guys think hes worth a look maybe in rounds 3 or 4?
-
here's the thing with Henne, he's got all the physical tools, and has great stats, but something doesn't always click.
When he needs to step up, he does, but he almost always has to be challenged to play like a great QB.
He could be a steal, but he could also be a flop. This coming from a Michigan fan -
for a kid who started since his freshman year, i expected more out of him.
-
to be fair, his So year 4/5 of the OL was injured as were Avant and Breaston half the time. And last year was all about Hart.
-
however as the original poster said... he has a heck of an arm thats for sure. he could be another brady type gem out of michigan in the late rounds. id be shocked if he goes before the 4th round -
Isn't Henne part of the same recruiting class of John David Booty and Kyle Wright. All 3 IMO have underachieved heavily. If u take a chance on Henne, u may as well take a chance on Kyle Wright . . . Henne had MUCH more talent than Wright had on offense . . . and he was very disappointing.
-
no those two are red shirt seniors. And Henne has never underachieved THAT much
-
Kyle Wright is an abomination of a QB. I'm a huge Hurricane fan and he was utterly pathetic. He had a strong arm and that was it. Henne seems like he is better in every aspect of football than Wright is.
-
I am also a UM fan, and Wright was painful on occassion . . . but we all saw that he had the goods early in his career . . . something went wrong, but I think its fixable. -
I don't know he never did anything impressive in my opinion. He couldn't manage a game and made alot of mistakes at terrible times. It seemed like he kept getting worse as time went on. Maybe it is fixable, but Henne looks to be pretty steady. This is all moot however if Parcells is intent on having Beck be our Qb and bring in a Vet to help him.
-
Henne did NOT have great coaching. We only opened the playbook if Hart was hurt or we needed to score. Otherwise Henne was just suppose to go under to our TEs
-
Henne would be go pickup in the end of the 2nd round or 3rd. He's tough, intelligent, and a gamer - qualities Parcells has liked in the pass. Being a Michigan fan I've watched him for four years and he's needed the running game to support him. He couldn't be judged this year due being injured. However, Michigan set up the run with the pass; in the pass Henne would have failed, however it looks like he may have turned the corner.
Worth looking at for an NFL team. -
I think Henne will be a late 2nd rounder or early 3rd rounder....probably be drafted around the same time as Brennan. I haven't seen Henne play too much but he looks ok....I just think if we are going to draft another QB it has to better a sure thing, or better than 50/50 prospect. I would either trade down and try for Ryan or Brohm, or wait and maybe take a shot on Flacko later on.

They also have above average to good arms and we will all hope that they develop instincts for the game...unfortuantly they all have significant game experience and the light has not gone on yet...
Iin Wrights case I doubt it ever will...in Ainge's case...I doubt it...JDB...maybe since he has a lot of multi route options and maybe just slow to process info...Wright and Ainge get a lot of 2 receiver routes....AND STILL cannot process the info.......JDB at least checks down.. -
IMO he would be a good pickup if Parcells & our new staff aren't sold on Beck, however if they like what we have in Beck then I think it would be more beneficial to draft a different position than QB.We got to many holes to fill at other positions before we start stockpiling rookie qbs.
