Good to read. I have growing confidence in him, based off these reports and what I saw from Nolan's defense last season. I think if we run a lot of Man-Free, which I expect, he may end up being the 2 level deep safety and that will really help him out IMO. Simplified responsibilities that allow him to rely on his athletic ability and speed.

You have to play the kid to develop him.
May God help us all.
Actually we know he has the speed and athleticism but lets hope he has the awareness and range.
That was for you padre :up:dolfan7171 likes this. -
I said when we drafted him this guy was a steal. Patience is the key.

I thought it was impossible to find a mid-late round starter in the draft....

If he can hit (a la Troy Palo) then he can be meek and reserved all he wants.

I think they will also give him a chance, but I believe that Will Allen will start over Sean Smith in a couple of games.... from what I saw last year he was not consistent, especially on the long ball. Dont get me wrong I understand he was a rookie and they all make mistakes but it just seem that he made a bit too much and the Fact that he was 0 in INTs makes it hard for me to count on him. -

Did he rise to the top, or did the bottom rise up to meet him?

Im not implying anything here, I'm just saying thats all I can remember of W. Allen's play in 09. -
I'm not ready to annoint any of these guys yet. The only guy I can say with any degree of certainty will be starting week 1 is Y Bell. I expect to see Clemons back there with him at FS. Corner I am going to guess Davis and Allen. Smith at the nickle.
