Chris 'thank you Mr. Huizenga' Chambers

Chambers had a great game i am gald he is with a team that has a chance to win the super bowl when Rivers plays good but i think chambers could have helped us alot this year

Chambers was inconsistant on this team. Hmmm, possibly the inconsistancy at coaches, Qb's, etc. Always on the verge of great, but never great. Hated to see him go, but he deserves a chance to be great on another team. As for Welker...I loved the guy. Actually still have a man crush on this kid. He was/is a stud on our team or any other team. Unfortunately, he was too good for the Dolphins at this time. I mentioned on another thread that (in my opinion of course)he is a player that we needed to let go to get other positions filled (ie. center). Now do I think this Setele guy is better than Welker? No, but I do think we need a long term Center/Oline and every other postion. NE can pick and choose individual players to help their team improve. We need to build a team. I would be happy to have kept Welker and Welker type players as a core of this team, but I can see why they thought they could let him go.

I didn't see it, but I would think they are grateful for having Chambers on there team.

10 times out of 10 i'd still trade welker. How amazing is it that people forget we tendered wleker and the patriots were going to match it. Welker wasn't worth a pay day, he's still not. He wasn't worth the 2nd rounder to be honest. You put him on a team without moss and stallworth and watch his value decrease.

Welkers a product of the patriots offense, not the other way around. He played with his heart here, but in the end all he really could do for our offense was 50 some catches and maybe 500 yds. Thats not worth a pay day.

IMO i think that Samson Setele is better then welker with our team welker is a good WR with Good hands but i dont think he could be a #1 WR in the NFL

I think losing Welker, and Chambers left the cubbards pretty bare.

Exactly what I said, with our team Setele is the better. Never said Welker is a #1 receiver. He's just a great football player. Would like more on our team with his heart!

great post and i agree with you, i never thought about the perspective of him being to good for the team at the time, i still think that if you let go of guys with character, toughness and production then that tells me something about their character,know what i'am sayin.

you don't see what i see in wes welker, him and chambers had to deal with probably the worst team in terms of the quarterback position over the past 7 years that the nfl has ever seen, not to mention that the o line was not far behind, i guess i should believe you over people like jason taylor and don shula who openly have questioned the moves

its not about who's better,its about decision making at that moment.

wes may not be a number one but he is the best slot receiver in the game and in the big picture that position is vital in the building of a championship

You do realize that we did NOT have a choice in the Welker trade? We didnt just trade him to the Pats b/c we wanted to. Welker was a RFA, and the Pats were set to use a poison pill. However, to avoid the bad pub of using a poison pill, the Pats offered to give up an extra 7th, and make it a normal trade.

We took the extra 7th... but we didnt have much of a choice.

So I highly doubt our team was demoralized by the decision of the FO, since people that knew about the situation knew that we had no say in the matter...

And on top of it, we got one hell of a player in return. Samson looks like he will be a future pro bowler at one of the most important positions on offense...

I lol at your response, I UNDERSTAND WE DID'NT TRADE HIM, WE JUST LET HIM GO FOR A THIRD ROUND PICK. my point is he should'nt of even been in the conversation.

I saw that too tonight, and I thought it was pretty funny. Im sure CC thanks Huizenga everyday for letting him go, enabling him to actually contend for the playoffs with a good team.

true true ..and it's not mr. h's fault it was mr muller's fault those guys are gone. just imagine what chambers would do for the pat's.

Wow, we are rebuilding, it's sort of sad when someone's favorite leaves the team for some draft picks for like Starting Olineman or something, I suppose it would be better if we had kept the object of affection and still finished 1-15?

Or maybe, just maybe the players who are whinning about the coaches should play...better or something? As they attack the coach, they also are attacking their own performance.

We got our Center for the forseeable future for Welker, we don't know who we will draft with the Chambers pick, hopefully a guard or dlineman.

and BTW, when we win again, Simms will be in the same locker room kissing someone's backside and talking about good they are....

That's brutal...Though I hate the management, I hate the coaching of this team. The Tuna though has me thinking this team will turn it around. I can only compare him to his coaching jobs and he turns teams around. Taking a QB early in the draft had me happy, not taking the guy who everybody knew we should've taken has me skeptical. A smart guy running the franchise is a good change.

there's only two ways how he got that nickname, one, he walks around practice and mumbles it to other players, two, all the chargers thank mr. h for giving chris to them, both ways we look like schmucks.

Imagine if san diego gets to the big game, chris chambers for a third round pick, would you take it? i would'nt, no way no how, that would be another inditement on the front office

We should have and did jump on the SD offer of a 2nd round pick (#56 or so in the draft), we are rebuilding..

I would have jumped on that pick so fast AJ Smith would go deaf in his right ear when Mueller's "Deal" came through the line....

We didnt have choice. And on top of it, we got GREAT value for him, and turned it into one hell of a player.

I dont get what you are upset about? We had no choice, and even then, we got a great player in return...

We got a 2nd round pick for Chambers...

And a 2nd round pick for Welker...

NOT 3rd rounders...
