Chud to be fired apparently

Would love to have him as OC.

Hopefully Donna Shalala is on top of this for the UM coaching job.

He would be a great OC hire. Maybe as a HC, too.

This is another coach who I would love to see as the Dolphins offensive coordinator. I am just surprised that there is talk of him being fired after only one year as the teams HC. He had no true starting QB for most of the season and the FO traded the teams #1 RB to the Colts early in the season.

If he is fired. I would have to think it is probably due to a conflict he has with the GM or the owner. I don't think it is because he isn't a good NFL coach.

There is options... Kubiak... Maybe Chud.

Especially if rumors that Golden might be headed to PSU if O'Brien takes the job with the Texans. I would love to see Chud get the job in that case.

Kind of harsh, I mean they stick him with garbage at the Qb position, trade away Richardson, I mean was he really supposed to win this year? This must be about personality conflicts or infighting or something, I mean they couldn't have expected this team to actually go anywhere did they?

This is why the Browns are a terrible team year in and year out.

Ill take him as HC honestly. Give him a running qb like he had with Cam Newton (Tannehill), he'll bring in a stud DC and we will win 10 games at least next year.

Would like him at OC, not HC. Kubiak intrigues me at HC but Lovie Smith is my current #1 HC candidate, unless Cowher decides to leave the booth, maybe Gruden.

One after the other, after the other; trying to be the next genius, hammering furiously at square pegs, trying to make them fit round holes and ruining both. Or, conversely, running chicken****, dink-and-dunk, risk-averse Offenses, failing both their present and the team's future by stunting development of players.

Agreed, and jesus christ it's awesome to have you back. Get someone young, innovative, and excited to be here. A Miami guy. Ahead of the curve not in 1990. Bring him in.

Chud as OC won't happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

There were some reports on ESPN yesterday that Golden would be high on the coaching list at Penn State if O'Brien decides to take the job with the Texans. Golden hasn't made any comments one way or the other, but he did play at Penn State and I don't think it would be a shock if he takes the job, if he is offered it.

The University of Miami doesn't pay it's head coaches as well as other major universities and the facilities are second rate in comparison to most. The stadium is also miles away from the university and the stadium is only half full for the majority of the games.

Since the late 1970's it has been very difficult for UM to keep their better head coaches. Until they can pay top dollar for the better HC candidates or get an on campus stadium which will be easier to fill with students, I think it is going to be very difficult for the university to keep any successful head coach they might be lucky enough to hire.

Philbin isn't going to hire Chudzinski, very rarely do you see cross-tree hirings.

It could happen particularly if the GM gets to decide Philbin's fate and wanted Chud. It's not a high probability thing, particularly since Chud will head coach somewhere next year, but stranger things...

Chud isn't nearly as good of a coordinator as some people think. He completely failed with Cam Newton, despite all of his talent. And the Panthers players didn't like him or his schemes. Pass.

A GM hiring an offensive coordinator under an offensive head coach would be even stranger. I can't ever think of a situation where a GM went out and hired a coaching staff member for a coach like that. Ownership or practicality may result in strange situations(Mike Tomlin retaining Dick LeBeau), but I'd be even more surprised.

I'm thinking it's a perfect way for the new GM to motivate Philbin while insulating his guy (who in this hypo would be Chud) from having to come in cold, have the near guaranteed losing season, and being on the hot seat in year two. If Philbin succeeds, great for the GM. If he fails, Philbin takes the blame, the GM looks like a genius for assuring that his guy steps right up starting as an interim HC late in the season, and hits the ground running.
