Also, I hope the Dolphins can take this win in stride and not bask in the glory sunlight for to long. I hope this is the appetizer to their winning attitude diet.gafinfan, dolfan7171, dolphindebby and 2 others like this. -
welll.. just remember the patriots last year.. we embarrassed them and they returned the favor later... we will have to play an even MORE physical game in three weeks in order to beat them.. I must say that being able to put a broom in my siggy over the jests logo would be uber sweet... I REALLY want to whip them again.

there is a difference between the two situations ... NE was ill prepared, the JESTS knew it was coming ...
the good news, the JESTS are an undersized defense ... so there is nothing they can do about it ... as long as we stay healthy - we should be able to rumble over them again -- as long as the defense doesn't give the game away !
Ryan just doesn't have the D that he had to work with in BAL ... they are smaller, albeit, faster -- but that doesn't help them against the run ... as we and NO showed.dolfan7171, Pagan and njfinfan like this. -

The more they talk dribble, the more it proves we are indeed in their heads and the bigger our advantage gets. They may beat us in 3 weeks, but I would bet big money they won't beat us down. :up:dolfan7171, djphinfan, Themole and 2 others like this. -

But, its not just the win this time Marty, its who we beat and how we beat them.
Every aspect was working for us. To those of us that remember the dominant O-lines, those times are back. We have the best) tandem in the league, Henne had GREAT numbers and Ginn beat an all-world CB on a bomb.
Oh yeah, and Sexy Rexy can't stop talking about us which means he's not concentrating on the up coming week

I see this going one of two ways...
Rex Ryan focuses too much on the loss, has a short week to prepare his team for Buffalo which in all honesty does have some pretty darn good offensive weapons (an on paper better passing game than us, and a pretty solid run attack). If they can't pick themselves up off the floor the Bills WILL hurt them, they almost got the Pats, and they're definitely going into this with their best opportunity to get to the Jets. If the Jets lose that game, they are going to be far too disorganized to try to properly beat us in a few weeks.
If the Jets win against the Bills, beating the Raiders is a foregone conclusion, and they'll come at us hard. However, they'll have to respect the pass, and in doing so they're going to let Ricky and Ronnie run the show. This game we pulled up 250 some odd yards in the air and 150 on the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if you see those numbers reversed for that game, and see a true knock down drag out fight.
The Jets are quite beatable, they've been exposed, and they're on the ropes. I've got my fingers crossed that the Bills can soften them up a bit more so we can give them the knock out punch they deserve. -
Wow, talk about going about this all wrong. The lame excuses, by not only the JETS, but also the media, are going to (if they already haven't) infuriate the Dolphins.
Yesterday, a poster talked about this and I completely agree. In three weeks, there should be a revenge game at the Meadowlands. Only these antics and the complete disrespect shown for our win, may very well have the Dolphins seeking revenge rather than the JETS. -
Same ol' Jets. Their D-Bag fanbase will realize soon enough. -
Every single Dolphin ought to feel annoyed by all of that crap. And this should be extra added incentive to go to the Meadowlands and place their foot in the Jets' collective asses.
Our clown QB not only torched their defense but he outperformed their own QB. Our WC nonsense punched their run defense in the face.
I can see our own defense taking issue with all of that, too.
It's safe to say there's no worries about the Fins lacking intensity for the rematch.
Sparano should send Rex a message:

This is where Rex Ryan shows his weakness as a coach....and has stained his team with that same weakness....
We have gotten into Rex's head....and he's wearing it on his shirt sleeve for all to see. He's seething....he's gonna hyper focus on every which way he can stop the Wild Cat next time in NY. His players are making truly stupid comments, which belies their weakness as well....
You now see a Miami team that has a division rival exactly where we want them....thank god we play them so soon. Our coaches play this like Sun Tszu....they are two steps ahead of ole Rexy. We will throw them a changeup now when they are sitting dead red on a fastball....and that will throw them into a tizzy....
And then...when they are sitting dead red on a fastball....we will blow a heater right by them...and the mere fact that anger...and all of their preperation will do nothing to stop the on slaught....will kill any hope they have. They will sit dejected on the sideline...spent from all of the energy that angers robs from their bodies....
We're already winning our game against them two weeks from now...and not one snap has been taken.Frumundah Finnatic, jason8er, siciliansith and 7 others like this. -
As hung up as Rex Ryan is on beating the Wild Cat, I would love to see us not use it at all in the first half and have a successful half, and when he goes to adjust off that, bring it back in and ram it down his throat again. Because you know that a huge chunk of his prep is going to be around the WC, just because of how much both he and his players hate it.siciliansith, Clipse, Fin D and 1 other person like this. -
I stopped going to games at the Swamp because the drunken, only three generations walking upright Jet trolls made life miserable when I was there.
I could give a rat's *** what's said to me, but when they started making inappropriate comments to my wife it was time to stop going.

A couple thoughts:
1. I agree that we will be the team with the chip on its shoulder come the rematch. Calvin Pace called Henne a CLOWN!!!! For really no reason whatsoever. You call my QB a clown, I'm gonna come after you.
2. Before the re-match, we only have one other team to gameplan for. The jets have two. Now, granted the Raiders are barely trying, but this can only help.
3. I hope that Rex truly believes his post-game comments. That is, I hope he really believes that they just didn't execute. Great. Don't change your scheme, Rex. We'll pop your sorry-*** front 7 in the mouth all day long once more!siciliansith, gafinfan, Fin D and 2 others like this. -
It's good to be seen. I think the reason so many in football circles we excited watching the game is the fact that Miami's coaching staff did such a great job devising the game plan and pulling it off....it was fun to watch.
We were talking about " Miami" using the Big formation quite a bit, as they have the personnel to pul it off. Using the two TE, Two Backs & one WR totally goes against the blitz packages. Now, with the fear of the deep pass...it becomes all that much harder to defend.
The Jets will make adjustments the next time they play. I can envision them over stacking the line on one side and forcing Miami to only use one side of the field. That is coming. Miami would then counter with optioning away from that side and it could confuse things. It will be a more conventional game plan next time, but the Jets still have to prepare for it. What really amazed me was the way the offense line just took over the game in the 4th quarter. As long as they remain offensively penalty free and stay away from 3rd and long, the game plays into Miami's hand more. Henne is the real deal and a cool customer. Give him time to prepare and he will be solid. He is very smart and has maybe, one of the top 5 arms in the game. I saw him in college throw one 65 yards in the air on target. It was nice to see him throw the touch pass well. With him, Ginn will get more looks. -
That means the scheming should be broader. Throw in a little Pat White & Thigpin for flavor and this might prove to be a very special game for us and our gimmick offense. "If frogs had wings"njfinfan likes this.
