wow another cod?

 

It's not even really a trailer, just some teaser junk, IMO. I realize they don't really need to show off much because the CoD name sells itself these days, but come on, give us actual footage.

Here's hoping the FN SCAR makes it into the game as a primary-issue weapon ala CoD4's M4A1 SOPMOD.

 

Yeah I hate trailers like that. No real info or game at all. Just hype....

 

Where are all the people that are going to call this COD6?

 

They've officially made the Modern Warfare games it's own series. So even though "Modern Warfare" was CoD4, this will be CoD: Modern Warfare 2.

go figure.

yeah I'm guilty of calling W@W part 5... But I've fixed my ways. I'm ashamed to be called a gamer.

 

Is it just me or are they churning these out a little quick? I can't even keep up anymore.

 

Its probably going to use the same engine as COD4. So not as much time needed to develop.

If you think about it, Infinity Ward had Two years to develop MW2. Thats pretty good for a game that most of the infrastructure is already made with the first MW.

 

It's easy for them to pound them out because of splitting the development between two different makers and having an engine that works.

As long as they keep the online roughly the same (accept I'd add more motivation for prestige levels like giving you a new weapon upon prestige 1,3,5,7,9 that you can not lose when you prestige up) then it will be a winner.

 

I'm stoked, i like modern warfare better than world at war anyway. i dont know if its infinity ward or what. as far as the engine goes, i was under the impression that WAW uses the same as COD4 anyway

 

It does use the same engine.

 

Duh their becoming EA. Its like their pumping out Expansions to game at full retail. It seems a NEW COD comes out every 6 months.

 

There is apparently some hidden info in the teaser that was found.

 

The thing I never liked about Call of Duty 3 and 5 (yes, I said 5) is that they try to include vehicles. Call of Duty 4 shined because of its simplicity IMO. All it was missing was capture the flag.

 

yea, thats what happened with the Socom franchise on PS2. 1 and 2 were great, they butchered 3 with the vehicles and doubling the amount of players. I gave up after all that. I still haven't tried it for PS3 yet.

 

I think the PS3 version is really good especially after the last few updates.

 

Im glad this is coming out, i loved the first one. Can't wait for this... too bad we have to until november. Would have been nice to see some more info about the game in this trailer though

 

hows it compare to socom 2? that was the best one. i know they included crossroads as a map.

 

I HATE the tanks in WOW on multiplayer. It pisses me off to no end when you are playing domination and some pinhead camps by one of the flags picking people off. I like the idea of the tanks but they should have made the bazooka more powerful. I should not have to shoot the tank twice AND hit it with a sticky grenade and then get myself killed so I can respawn and hit it again with a bazooka.

If you hit the tracks with the bazooka the tank should be immobilized. No more than 2 shoots should blow it up.

Both Modern Warfare and WOW have their strengths and weaknesses IMO.

Having a 3 grenade perk in Modern Warfare was a bad idea. Grenade spammers make it difficult to have fun, especially on smaller maps. Plus the grenades in Modern Warfare were too powerful IMO.

WOW is a better multiplayer experience for me. The only issue I have is weapon balance, something I complained about the first time I played and they are clearly going to do nothing about it. The best gun in the game is an MP40. sure it has a slow rate of fire but it's killing power is the highest among all the automatic weapons and it's range is excellent. In real life it's killing power was limited by it's small cartridge and it's effective range was 100 meters. In WOW I've killed guys from far further than that with the weapon.

IMO, for Modern Warfare 2 they need to do a few things to make online the best it can be.

1.) Get rid of Juggernaut as a perk. They can add "body armor" because that is real life but having a perk that makes it possible to get shot in the face and not die is a joke. If you choose to use "body armor" as a perk it should protect your torso only AND it should decrease your foot speed.

2.) No 3 grenade perk. 2 maximum.

3.) Balance the weapons better. If I choose to use a single shot rifle in the game it should be a one shot kill EVERY TIME unless the guy I hit is wearing body armor. Even in that instance, if I hit him in the head of the legs he should die.

4.) More maps and when you release DLC maps do not release them until you are prepared to put then in play on all game modes.

I have other ideas but I don't want to blab anymore...LOL!

 

I never really got into those games/that was the time where I didn't have a PS2 due to a bad laser.

Its worth a rent at least.

Somebody broke down the trailer on youtube. The trailer takes place in an airport, you can hear the lady say flight 275. I never noticed that until now.


Also the final words in the trailer were translated. They are:

Haha that is pretty ridiculous. I am excited for the release of the original COD though. I could use a little Brecourt in my life.

Because my son and I both now have a 360 and live account(as of last week). That way we can play in matches together

 

I pre-ordered last week. I plan on taking the release day off work....sad, I know.

 

COD World at War was extremely dissapointing. I hated it. But I think I'm going to love Modern Warfare 2 because it's not World War 2.

 

Plus, Infinity Ward is behind this one. All the good COD's were developed by IW.
