I didn't hear abut this ankle thing. However. it doesn't seem like a big deal.
“Calm down…calm down…Tunsil’s ankle is more of a long-term issue. I don’t think that anyone doubts that Tunsil can play this season, it’s more of a thing to worry about 8-9-10 years down the line,” Cole said in the interview with Big O.
According to Cole’s report on Bleacher Report, sources around the league said it was the “pre-arthritic” ankle issue that contributed to Tunsil’s slide from No. 1.
“
According to multiple sources that I talked to, Tunsil has a pre-arthritic condition in his ankle and that’s one of the concerns that came up late in the draft process,” Cole said in the video report. “In fact, talking to two of those sources; what they say about Tunsil’s ankle is that it may be worse than Myles Jack’s knee in the long run.”
Jack, the former UCLA linebacker, saw his draft stock plummet when it is discovered that the knee injury he sustained during his final collegiate season had degenerative aspects and could require microfracture in the future.
“There’s always disagreement about medical findings and what doctors believe will happen with certain injuries – especially when they are not traumatic. But one source said that is a concern but not a big concern – certainly not as big as Jack’s knee.”

djphinfansubscriberI don't think it's false info..the injury sustained was brutal and in a bad location for an olineman..I'm concerned I know that..I saw the injury/location I saw the scar..

Unlucky 13subscriberI'm glad that its not a short term issue. The question though, is would NFL teams really let a guy drop in the draft for something that wasn't going to prop up for 8-10 years? If you get that long out of a player, you've done great.

A bad injury doesn't equate to an arthritic condition, though.

If teams truly thought that the ankle would be a problem only 8-10 years down the road, then, IMO, they are lying out their arses that it was the reason he dropped so many spots. very few if any of these GM's / coaches will still be in place with the same team 8-10 years from now, let alone (like you said) worry whether the 3rd contract is going to be there or not. These teams panicked about the photo and are now using this as a more valid excuse.

FinatikmoderatorThe Dolphins have said both privately and publicly that there were no concerns prior to the draft about tackle Laremy Tunsil’s ankle. There also were no private or public concerns about Tunsil’s ankle among league insiders before the draft.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, no issues were raised directly or indirectly about Tunsil’s ankle in the weeks and months before the draft. At a time when every inch of every player’s body and background is poked and prodded, if there was a problem with Tunsil’s ankle, somebody would have said something to Tunsil or those who represent his interests before the draft. That simply didn’t happen.
It’s possibly happening now, as pointed out last night, because one or more teams who passed on Tunsil are now having regrets about the decision. On one hand, the Dolphins may have been picking at the spot in round one (No. 13) where the need for a left tackle intersected with the availability of sufficient time to process the gas-mask-and-bong-video that emerged not long before the draft. On the other hand, the teams that passed on Tunsil could have quickly come to the conclusion that plenty of guys smoke weed, and that video evidence of Tunsil doing it shouldn’t matter.
So if Tunsil becomes a great player, those who passed on him will need to be able to point to something more tangible than a cloud of smoke as the reason for not taking him. And now those seeds have been planted, with the news that Tunsil has a pre-arthritic condition in his ankle.
Even if he doesn’t.
Lots of people will tell you what they think about you and what you shouldn't and should do. Not everyone's thoughts are worth consideration. Don't take criticism from anyone who you wouldn't also go to for advice.

He also had an offer from the Jets to move down 10 spots and gain their 2nd rounder. The jets admitted they were going after Tunsil...they may very well regret not offering more, especially knowing we landed him.
one things certain. The Jets were less concerned with the ankle or bong video than Miami was.
Okay two things are certain. With #8 miami got Maxwell,Alonso,&Tunsil....with #10 NYG got Apple.

FinSaneforum_veteranI'm more concerned about knee issues than ankle issues. Ankle injuries are at worst lingering issues, whereas knee injuries shut down seasons and careers.
