I would love to get this kid with our first round pick. He reminds me a lot of Mcnair because of the small school. We all know how Mcnair turned out. Also the fins could probably trade down and still get him. That would be a win win situation because we could get a defensive tackle and that franchise quarterback. Just look at this kids stats for this year and previous years. This year 38 tds. RAT 166.3 | YDS 4,174 | TD 38.

Colt Brennan has nothing but Stats. He played in a pass happy offense and he did well in it. Not UNLIKE the guy we already drafted, JOHN BECK. If you're impressed by Brennans stats then go look up what Beck did at BYU. Its practically the same.
They both played in pass happy offenses, they both displayed leadership, and they're both going to struggle as pros. -
get Timmy Chang if you like crap, he wouldn't cost any picks -
I'd rather have Brian Brohm.
-
Uhh, what? Colt Brennan reminds you a lot of Steve McNair????
Who put the pita-pa-key in the kool-aid? -
It's unlikely Brennan will be taken in the first round. With Ryan, Brohm, and Woodson a strong lock to go ahead of him, he likely can be had with our second if we chose to take another QB. I would pass, as I don't see a significant upgrade over Beck and we need help at......well everywhere.

I watched a lot of college football thanks to my college fantasy leagues and I would not want Brennan with the first pick. He does have a lot of skill but he's got a weird delivery (kind of sidearm) and like others said he plays in that pass happy offense. If you like his stats you should check out Graham Harrell from Texas Tech who has similiar stats and did it against better competition. I wouldn't really want Woodson with a 1st round pick either, he's got skills as well but his decision making is questionable and we all know how that goes. Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm would be my choices they both play in a more pro style offense and both are excellent QB's. Anyway that's just my opinion, which obviously means nothing just wanted to get into the convo. :)

Draft another QB later in the draft, keep Beck and get another veteran backup.
I pray we don't keep Lemon. -
I don't think it's fair to say that about Beck. He has qualities that very few college QBs have. We honestly don't know if he'll struggle in the pros yet. That's your opinion not a fact.
Edit: I just wanted to post the link not the video. Just click the Google link. -
I do agree w/ drafting a qb in the draft . . . . value pick. -
i don't remember which GM does this, but i read somewhere that there is a GM or two out there in the NFL that believe you should draft a QB in EVERY draft (not necessarily in the early rounds), because you'll never know what gems you may find in the bottom of the draft.
Considering our QB situation is still in flux, i think we should draft a QB next year, but i won't say it should be a specific guy or a specific round. If we draft some project guy in round 6 or 7, i'd be happy if it was well-researched and we did our homework. I would probably be against getting a guy like Brohm, Ryan, or Woodson just because they would probably high picks.... first round or second, and we have too many other holes to fill to spend two high picks in consecutive drafts on the same position. -
I think Brennan won't be a bust in this league. He'll do just fine as long he has a pass first offence similar to the run and shoot one because he won't be as effective with the Dolphins if he's handing off to someone two downs out of three.Last edited: Dec 16, 2007 -
all that people that we drafted from Hawaii this year worked he might to
