What are the best live shows you've ever seen?
Your first?
Your last?
1st concert - Poison and Tesla - Uniondale NY, Nassau Coliseum
February 1989
Last concert - Pearl Jam - Hartford, CT - Dodge Music Center
June 27, 2008
Top 5
1. Pearl Jam - New York, NY - Madison Square Garden
July 9, 2003
I've been in the garden plenty of times. For The Who, Metallica, TOOL, Guns N Roses, but it has never shaken this hard.
2. TOOL - New York, NY - Randall's Island (Lollapalooza)
July 11, 1997
I've seen them plenty of times since, but there is nothing like that first time. Under the stars, caked with drying mud, perfect.
3. Soundgarden - New York, NY - The Armory
June 17, 1994
This was the same night as O.J.'s infamous Bronco chase. The place was like an oven. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and was sweating from the minute I walked into this hell hole. At the end of the night I wrenched a few cups of accumulated crowd sweat out of that t-shirt. Worth it? Hell yes!
4. A Perfect Circle - Uniondale, NY - Nassau Coliseum
May 7, 2004
I was drunk, they were pitch perfect.
5. My Morning Jacket - New York, NY - Radio City Music Hall
June 20, 2008
First time ever in Radio City. Great place to see the right band.

Best - 311 is always good, saw them 9 times. Filter was very good, Smashing Pumpkins is very good as well. Blink 182 was very entertaining. Incubus is great live.

I'm amazed that the building is still standing!
For me....
First: KISS at Nassau Coliseum, New Year's Eve 1975
Last: Maiden at MSG 2008
Five Best:
1. Elton John/Billy Joel Face to Face Tour 2006 @ MSG
2. Maiden'/Priest 1982 @ MSG
3. David Bowie mid 80's @ MSG
4. Cheap Trick/UFO/Rush 1978 @ The Palladium
5. Jeff Healy 1989 @ The Bottom Line -
First: RATM - Hammerstein Ballroomm - 1996
Last: Pearl Jam - MSG- June 26th 2008
Top 5:
1. Dave Matthews Band - Central Park - September 2001. The announced paid crowd was 60,000, the largest since Simon and Garfunkel drew almost a million in 1982 on the Great Lawn in Central Park. The newspapers said it was closer to 110,000. The tribute to the WTC, the 4+ hour show, the sore shoulders from holding my best friends wife on my shoulders for the whole concert so at least one of us could see it....Great time and great music.
2. Pearl Jam - MSG- June 26th 2008 - Ive been a Pearl Jam fan since they were known as Mookie Blaylock. I played hooky from school the day Even Flow was released just to see the video. And every time they played in the tri state area there was a reason I couldn't go whether work or school or something. They didn't disappoint.
3. Ben Folds Five - Hammerstein Ballroom - 2004 - Awesome show, never smoked so much secondhand pot in my life. Dont remember much of it, except liking the music and an amazing craving for my favorite munchie food, Cracker Jacks.
4. RATM - Hammerstein Ballroomm - 1996 - Great show. Was right after the Evil Empire CD was released. Awesome version of Killing in the Name of, Bulls On Parade, Down Rodeo, and Freedom.
5. TOOL - New York, NY - Randall's Island (Lollapalooza) July 11, 1997
Apparently I was there with ya His'n.
Honorable mention: Bon jovi @ the Vet. last show at the vet ever. Rocked that outhouse for the better part of 4 hours. Jovi just never gets old. His'nBeatYour'n likes this. -
First: Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Delux tour
Last: Van Halen reunion in St. Louis
Best:
1. KISS, Ted Nugent, Skid Row; one of the many KISS farewell tours
2. KISS Psycho Circus tour; my first time seeing KISS live, I was never the same
3. Van Halen reunion in Little Rock; my first time seeing Eddie and Dave together
4. David Lee Roth and Sammy Haggar in Nashville
5. Sum 41 on their Chuck tour; I drove from Memphis to Knoxville to meet up with some friends, we then drove up to Cincinnati to catch the show and drove back to Knoxville that night, I was completely wiped out but it was worth it -
TOOL - 97'. Did you happen to go into the dusty mosh pit earlier in the day for Korn and have every last piece of dry dusty dirt stick to your sweat? It hadn't rained in weeks and it was awful. I was picking dirt boogers all night. My friend stayed in for 4 extra songs and his freaking teeth turned black. We all looked like coal miners. -
The tool show, yeah i was in the pit for Korn and know exactly what youre referring to. I left that show with a rusty skin tone and teeth that looked like I hadnt brushed in a month. Pretty good show though :hi5: -
1st - Snoop dogg
Last: - Foo Fighters Rexall Center Edmonton Alberta
Best: Foo Fighters x 2, Wolfmother (got to meet the band!), Rage Against the Machine 2007 Vegoose Music Festival Las Vegas UNLV Sam Boyd Stadium, Eric Clapton, Tool, Daft Punk
Worst: Pearl Jam - Calgary ALberta ( I know, everyone likes PJ live, I thought it was brutal but it was probably just that show. I would like to see them again at a better venue)
Others: System of a Down, Sum 41, Sam Roberts, Our Lady Peace, Sloan, Audioslave, White Stripes, Green Day, Aerosmith/Motley Crue, Def Leopard/Styxx, Del and the funky homosapien, Billy Talent, Velvet Revolver and more i can't remember.
