I absolutely loved this part of the article. The bold piece is absolute brilliance and I like it. Great article!

Well done Richard, I REALLY enjoyed this piece. The match-up discussions are superb, thank you very much for sharing your work with us. I liked it all, but this caught my eye. IF we can still be in the game midway through the 3rd, this will start becoming more relevant every play;

No problem man, I'm just glad someone likes it.
At least no one is keeping score,............otherwise I'd be trouble.
But in all seriousness, getting the middle of the Chargers defense under control is vital to our success on Sunday. We are an inside running team, and that may work in our favor as we need to maintain that philosophy thoughout this game, even is we trail by 10 points or something of that nature. Running the ball on this defense is the name of the game; we do that we win I believe.gafinfan, azfinfanmang, Celtkin and 1 other person like this. -
Awesome piece Richard. Thank you.

I read this morning that Jyles Tucker didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday (hamstring). Unknown whether he'll play Sunday.

Thanks Richard. Once again, I am much smarter after reading this.
As George mentioned, Tucker is dinged. I believe Castillo is also a bit dinged even though he doesnt show up on any Injury charts. Jamal Williams is reporting a knee being hurt and of course Merriman is on IR.
IMO this could really play nicely into what you have eluded to. Run the ball directly up the gut..and often. -
I hope it plays out that way. We have the right pieces in place for the most part to get the job done. If Ronnie gets to the second level he will make someone pay for it, that is for sure.

I think its imperative that we don't get behind early. With the banged up injuries with Charger players on O and D, if we can keep with running the ball late in the game with 2 backs splittling carries it would be a huge advantage in the 4th. That is if the game is close at that point and we don't have to abandon the run.
You give ronnie the majority early. Then in the 4th, if its still close that tired D gets to try and stop the tank ricky, no easy task.
If we get down early and that advantage is taken away and were forced to throw a bunch in the 3rd/4th our chances significantly decrease.
Our O line needs to run block and control the clock so this doesn't become a shootout. WE don't have the personnel compared to them to get into a fast moving high scoring game. Our run game needs to be effective early and all game, not just the first half.
Great write up Confusious, i really got some great perspective on the upcoming game because of your efforts. You can tell you really have a good understanding of this game. Note to ESPN Scouting Dept. Take note on how to really analyze a game match up. Greatly appreciatedConuficus likes this. -
con, awesome job as usual. i like how muck is posting yours & sams stories so you guys can't get the thanks, lol! :D
i am less concerned about their defense than i am their offense. our defense can't stop good offenses... the only team we shut down was NE, and their offense is anemic with Brady & Maroney out. this will be a true test to see if our D is for real or just capitalized on a beating a crappy offensive opponent. :up:Conuficus likes this. -
Pretty sure you meant their OFFENSE was anemic :wink2:
Also, have to disagree. Besides a long- Hail Mary, we actually didnt look that bad defensively against the JESTs. Of course the Offense we are about to see is MUCH more akin to the Cards than the Jests :sad:texasPHINSfan likes this. -
Yeah thats true AZ or whoever you are this week . Only rather than stretch us simply vertically, they will try and stretch us horizontally with Gates, LT and Sproles. -

GREAT work... Between your serious no-shananagins take and Samphin's comedic take I feel like I'm ready to go into the weekend! AWESOME!
