Casey Bramlet? oh lord we're going to the super bowl now!
-
Uhh...because we dont have another QB beyond Beck and Lemonaid?
-
Yeah, but we haven't had a 3rd qb since Green went down, I do understand LennyV's confusion :huh1:
-
well i dont think its something worth dwelling on.
-
Dwelling? Just asking a simple question.
-
I think this is the time of year when some teams call up the practice squad players they want to protect from other teams. Not to sensationalize the move, but with the open spot created by Crowder - perhaps we see something in Bramlet worth holding onto to.
-
crowder, another gator disappointment
-
He has only played three. And has played well. Not amazing, but he hasn't lost us games.
-
well, he's only in his 3rd season, first of all....secondly, he was in the top 40 of the NFL for tackles last year, and 8th in the NFL for assists. i know that's not SUPER great, but he's consistant. the ONLY other person on our team with more tackles than him was zach thomas, who lead the league last year. to say he hasn't made ANY plays is a totally incorrect statement. you can have your opinion, you're entitled to it, but back it up with more facts than that. until then, i'm still on his bandwagon :)Last edited: Dec 23, 2007

He recorded 106 tackles for us last year ... I'd say that's doing pretty good. Of course, this is only his third year ...
-
crowder is crap. get over it
-
haha, that's the facts you want to support with? then i guess the debate is over.:lol:
-
he has'nt lost us games?, how the heck do you know that, we've only been one of the worst teams in the nfl the past three years, hmmmm, i'am sure he had nothing to do with that huh.
The man has limitations physically, plays way to upright for the position, can't blitz off the edge and is slow in his reads, unless zack is telling him before the play, 'YOU GO RUN HERE AND MAKE TACKLE THERE.
Alright guys, seeing that some of you are being so positive, which i appreciate, i will take it easy on him and give him one more year to make A play. -
Crowder has 78 tackles this year, 21 more than anyone else on the team. He has 61 solo tackles, 12 more than anyone else on the team. Keep in mind that's with battling injuries, missing the last game against Baltimore.
-
is that saying much on this pathetic defense? somebody has to make the tackles, and with the amount of offensive plays the opposition has had, there are plenty of chances to make tackles. -
thems are stats :) at least for us....lol
-
Don't forget, he has been playing out of position for the better part of the year at ILB with the injuries to ZT. Your argument has now moved from Channing "not making plays" to Channing "making plays because someone had to."
If someone is making plays on our defense, as atrocious as it has been, then I believe that person deserves a chance next year. -
im sure he'll be back and will be average once again.
-
Just for the sake of argument, let's compare the number of tackles each of the Pro Bowl Starters (James Harrison and Mike Vrablel) would have vs. Channing, given Channing was active the entire year. Again, keep in mind that Crowder has not played in 3 full games this year.
Vrabel: 69 Tackles
Harrison: 91 Tackles
Crowder: 101 Tackles (based on a full 14 games)
Again, your argument doesn't make a lot of sense. Just based on numbers alone, I'll take Crowder over either one of these players. -
Tackles downfield, at least most of time, mean that the running back is bursting through your front seven and being taken down by your secondary. Crowder has been playing linebacker, more specifically inside linebacker in the absence of ZT.
-
wow, so basically you're saying dump the guy whose doing the best on our defense in his position? what kind of logic is that? that's like saying because the rams are doing bad as a whole to get rid of bulger. that kind of logic makes no sense. why get rid of a player who is obviously making plays? anyways, this is his 3rd season, he obviously has the potential to blow up with mentors like ZT and JT, why get rid of him? so he can get good for another team like wes welker and chris chambers?
-
We never moved him to the middle because we never had to. Morlon had 75 tackles in his 3rd season with us, with 57 of them solo. Channing eclipsed that in 11 games. I agree that Crowder has room to improve, but comparing him to Greenwood is ridiculous.
-
can agree with that, but irrational statements like 'he sucks' are just ridiculous
-
I agree completely. Asking players to play out of position is just asking for trouble. Just ask Jason Allen.
-
twasn't you my friend, i know you better than that
-
IN HIS POSITION.......which was the rest of that statement....dont twist my words or i won't even bother with you
-
i don't believe anyone in this thread used the term 'SUCKS' as you say either, nor do i think that my original post was irrational or ridiculous like you also say, so watch yourself, and don't put words in peoples mouths, and btw, go ahead and don't bother me, i look forward to the nonbotherment of you.Last edited: Dec 23, 2007
