Well it may be a two man discussion platform, but the Knicks are looking like a legitimate playoff team ladies and gents.
I admidt it is a petty accomplishment when "other" fans are enjoying their dynasties, but playoff basketball in NY is on another level.
A road win at the Hornets is huge, right now I say this team can be a 4-5 seed in the East.

They look like a playoff team. Hopefully they continue to play good in the regular season. Plus, it's the Eastern Conference.
-
Look at it starting sunday.
Having said that...I had them as a 6th seed with 44 wins. That is about right. -
Amare is playing insane, but the team defense is still garbage....we can make the playoffs like this but we won't last in them until we play D.
Then again when has our coach ever given a dook about defense in his career. -
D'Antoni is just terrible. That system sells tickets and wins nothing.
You still have to beat the Celtics, Heat, Magic to do anything..and all three are basically the top 3 defensive teams in the league, which means that the Knicks won;t pass either in a series any time soon.
A complete philosophy change and some talent infusion and the rivalry is on.
Basically...I say..fire D'Antoni..HIRE Doc Rivers...sign Melo....Hello..Heat/Knicks rivalry. -
I don't think "Doc" Rivers is gonna leave Boston anytime soon.
D'Antoni isn't much of a coach that knows much about defense plus with players who can't play much defense. *cough*A'mare...
Celtics, Orlando, and Miami aren't the top 3 nor Top 10 Defensive Teams in the league at the moment.
Even with Carmelo Anthony, it's not enough.
Knicks-Heat rivalry isn't there no more. They play different division.
What the Knicks needs is to improve defense and consistently keep scoring baskets when they're up by a good margin. -
every stat this year and for that matter..the last three years disagrees with you. not only are they the top 3, it really isn't close.

Doc Rivers is a FA at the end of the season. Unless of course, you are his agent and you have inside info...... -
This is the first time since 2001-2002 we are 4 games over this late in the year.
First time we have two five game winning streaks since 92-93.
Pitiful it is but we have to start somewhere.
Also got to add one thing...while the knicks are 1-4 vs teams 500 or better they played all those games at the start of the year when they had 10 new faces and still learning how to play with each other, learning the system and setting a rotation. They're not a finished product obviously but they have cap space, cap friendly deals and young players to deal if they choose -
-
BTW..what does being in a different division have to do with becoming a rivalry?
Heat = Good. Knicks = Good. Meet in playoffs = Rivalry.
simple as that. -
By the way I never knew Felton was this good of a player....dont know if its the up-tempo system he is thriving in or what.
-
I thought the up tempo system didn't suit him. (he was really good in the half court)
But he is really good in high pick and rolls.
You have relevant basketball..enjoy it. -
:sidelol:
That is all. -
-
They keep on rolling 52-30 here we come.
-
Don't do this to yourself. Glance at the schedule for the next month. -
Melo wants to be in NY badly! If so the blalnce of power may slowly shift from West to East.
-
-
Be careful what you wish for. -
Word is that all these Melo to NY stories are BS.
Melo has given the Nuggets a list of teams he will play for.
I am still told that if Melo makes Free Agency, NY will be his first choice.
New Jersey can step up and steal him.
Darkhorse with a ton of pieces to trade......Dallas. -
Bs huh.....link?
-
http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/fee...ny-reportedly-open-to-teams-other-than-knicks
But my reporting on this is as solid as my reporting on Bosh and Wade being a lock to Miami and that only Cleveland and Miami were in the running for Lebron.
A team can steal him, he is open to several teams...but If he makes Free Agency..his first choice is NY. -
So, Sig wager this Friday correct? Winner chooses Sig to be worn until Jan 1?
-
How bout I lay 10 points to make it fair? -
LOL...
Ok 9 -
So the Heat has to win by at least 10 points? right? That is a deal. My sig cannot be something derogatory though...it can be PRO Knicks. I have a good idea what yours will be.
Anyway..do us a favor..beat Boston and that Friday game will have MEGA juice. -
-
Wonder if Dantoni has EVER ran a drill on boxing out?
Amare on fire now but BBall is a game of "runs" -
Well all I can say is that is the first time in a very LONG time I have seen the Garden so hype, what a fun game to watch.
I wasnt excited one Iota as it was obvious Amare never got that shot off in time, very confused why the Celtics were at the Free throw line 10 times in the 4th Qtr and the Knicks only once? Amare was clearly fouled with 13 seconds left but no call.
Disappointed in the loss but New York is a good basketball team they put up 116 points against a "Defensive Dynasty"......I WILL be watching playoff basketball this year  -
-
I'll take 50 wins n a playoff series..
-
settle for 45 and the 5th seed.
BTW..Boston's defense was trash tonight. They forgot how to defend the P&R. But kudos to the NYK's for pushing their tempo and changing the game to their style. Won't be so easy on Friday. We own ..and I mean...OWN.... D'Antoni.
Expect us to blitz the P&R and trap Felton.
Just do us a favor...somebody...anybody.....piss D-Wade off. -
We will just make fun of if him because his mother banged Delonte West......oh wait that was your other star.
-
-
I think Sedano's speculation on Orlando is an interesting line of thinking. They have a large expiring to trade and they are the one team that can land Carmelo, and win a championship thus making it ok for him to be an MLB style half year rental.
The Nets need his signature on the dotted line before a trade. Orlando does not. -
I really hope Melo gets traded to the Clippers and they throw a ton of money in his face so he takes the bait and goes long-term with them. I really do. It'll be an FU to both him (though not really) and the Knicks.
