Dark Souls

yup, I was surprised there was no thread for it a while ago.. think I just ended up posting in the Skyrim thread about it. There are some incredibly frustrating parts of the game(in a good way) and some locations towards the end that seem like the developers just got lazy (not so good), but all in all a very well put together game.

The other frustrating thing is that the online play element is very broken. Many of the invasion techniques don't work, and if they do it can still take upwards of 30 minutes or longer of continuous attempts before it works, depending on which server the game put you into and how many people are playing (there are many sites dedicated to this problem and techniques to make it a bit better)

I've played through it a couple times, had an INT/sorcerer build one playthough, a STR/tank build the other. I also played a bit with a DEX/thiefish type build which was fun for all the backstabs

I'm pretty far in it. It's really good, but I stopped playing it not long after Skyrim came out. I need to come back to it.

It is very challenging but no in the same way that shooters on the hardest difficulty are. Where there is a will there is a way in this game.

My main issue with the game is there are no map(s). The multiplayer has been fun and I've managed to play online coop with my friends a few times. I keep running into one place after another that is too difficult for my character(level 50 knight) . Anyone know what the level cap is in this game? I just beat that crazy demon woman down stairs to ring the second bell. Am I far into the game yet?

No real level cap it just gets insanely hard to level after a while. There are webpages that state what is the best level to play each area with to get the most coop opportunities but im on a phone so cant look it up. You still have a lot of game left btw.. enjoy

Im now a level 52 and just beat the butterfly thing. First boss that I would say was easy. What level are you penn?

woah you're at 52 and just got to the butterfly-- no wonder it was easy haha? what else have you done so far? I have a couple different characters.. mage and warrior are both ~100 at end of the first playthrough, my current thiefy type guy is 40, which i'm playing in my few spare hours a week. (wow. i realize i sound like a total nerdlinger with all those characters.. but i swear i've owned the game for months and months! I don't play it that much)

Yea I'm been doing alot of farming to level up because I was tired of getting my ass kicked. Just tried to fight the wolf in the dark roots and he kicked my ass. So now I am back to farming in the area right before him with the human npcs. Now a level 58.

I'm a level 69 now and have been PVPing in the dark root gardens area near the Wolf. Still have yet to beat another boss.

i think 70 is near the recommended level minimum for the games final boss, so I'm sure you could beat some others at this point, especially if you have summoned help

Well now Im 84 and I just beat the two boss fight in Ando.

Dark Souls is the awesome i love playing this game on my PS3.

Level 100. Just beat the white dragon.

Level 140 on my second play through.
