Sign friggin Clabo and get it over with. You slow played Long and we lost him. You slow played McKinnie and we lost him. Now my friend, sit down, take a deep breath and put the DAM FRIGGIN TRIGGER or you will really have a mess on your hands. I fully understand what you were trying to do but its like go time dude. Get it done. We all understand that Winstons knee is complete FUBAR.
Thank You
A Pal
Caveat, forgot to add the D on Jeffs last name. To the spelling police, my fault. I changed it.

Barry Jackson reported that the dolphin offer to McKinnie wasn't competitive with the Charger one, let alone the Ravens' offer. As such it's doubtful we were really seriously interested, we probably offered just a bit above the minimum for one year.In other words our interest was lukewarm. .He has had a checkered career and he only started to play hard at the end of the year when his contract was up.No thanks.

I heard we were playing games next week, and tackles are just flying off the market

For me: zero interest in Justice. Winston - middling. Clabo - get him.
I know it's not the system he's used to but I think he'd be able to be effective. I also think he played better than Winston the past couple of seasons. And, Winston comes with the baggage of being a pain in the butt for coaches. -

Edit: The implication in the original post is that Jeff Ireland yet again lost out to other teams in both the Jake Long and Bryant McKinnie situations, which doesn't seem like the case at all. He set his price and they didn't want any of it, not an initial failure as much as a choice. Time will tell if it was the right one. In all other cases this offseason, Ireland has been WAY more aggressive. Has he ever moved up in the first round? Signing a 13-million dollar a year receiver after the last one had worked out so well? Completely making over an LB corps that was considered one of our stronger units?
Doesn't seem like he is sitting on his hands too much so far. -
Look, not wanting to start an argument but we need a tackle. A veteran at this stage at LT would have been great but that ship has sailed. Next best thing we can do is sign a vet RT and prod along with Martin. I was one along with many that did not have faith in Martin but we need to put faith in him now. You look around the league and a lot of decent teams do not have ProBowl type LT but most do have LT with some experience, I think thats what we were looking for, the experience. Not really sure about that but at this stage of the game, Clabo is or would be a pretty dam solid signing. We also drafted this kid who, IMO, can play LT but he had rotator cuff sugery and nobody knows for sure where he is at. We will find out this weekend. If Martin does not produce and this new kid is OK, bet the farm he will tried at LT. Thats what they were trying to avoid but now its apparent we have no other choice. Unelss someone on the board knows of a LT that is available with experience other then someone name Roger Saffold from the Rams.
St. Louis has flogged us with a coach, a LT and I am on my knees praying does not flog us again with a trade with us taking Roger Saffold. -

Some people just gotta ***** to be *****ing.
Would love to know where you're getting this information that we wanted Jake Long. Or that god created green apples. -
The tackle position is shaping up to be the WR position of last season. Swing and misses and left woefully unaddressed (so far).

To all of the negative/sarcastic feedback:
I get the thread is somewhat dramatic but I don't understand why the focal point is meeting such resistance. You'd think that notion of "stop *****footing around getting the future of our franchise adequate protection" is Skynet in an apocalyptic future. And as much as I love the prospect of Dion Jordan, if we continue to meander, we might soon be wishing we could send someone back in time to tell Lane Johnson, " Come with me if we want to live."
