Derrick Mason calls Channing Crowder “a horrible player”

I didn't realize Mason was as sensitive little bitch. Maybe he will wipe the sand out of his vagina

The Crowder hate today makes me sick. I don't care what you think of him, he plays for OUR team. We should be behind him after being disrespected like he was today.

When it rains, it pours, do not like Mason dissing Crowder, do not like Crowder mentioning McClain in the press.

I've lost a lot of respect for Mason.

Ironically when Crowder called Mason the "old guy" he must have tuned out (or his hearing aid wasn't kicking in) when Crowder then said "he's good as hell."

Derrick Mason was one of my favorite receivers in the NFL. He is no longer one of my favorite receivers in the NFL. No one deserves to be spit in the face. No one. What Mason said is beyond disrespectful, but rather childish.

Crowder may not be great but he is by no means terrible. Mason just got his wittle feelings huwt.

Crowder needs to shut up, wipe the spit off of his face and make a play.

Or better yet just retire...

i don't know about anyone else, but i don't necessarily hate the guy. i just hate loudmouths (ala joey porter) on our team. it only serves to rile the other team up and blow up in our faces as it did today.

forgot to add...i would have respected mason more had he taken the higher road and not talked trash back (the whole 'silence speaks louder than words' approach), but channing is attracting this sort of attention.

I think Crowder is solid yet unspectacular. He doesn't make the flashy plays but he seems to be effective against the run. There is a noticeable difference when he doesn't play.

I don't think he should be at fault for not being able to cover Rice. Dansby couldn't do it either. I'm not aware of any 250 LB that can on a consistent basis.

Honestly I dont care, This team has bigger issues right now and it starts up top.

Playing for the Dolphins or not, I am not going to back up a loud mouth who doesn't and never really has come close to backing up his mouth on the field of play. I don't like talkers like Mason so much but I cannot abide a guy who talks trash with no real on the field cred. That, is Channing Crowder.

He is not solid by any means. He is consistently taken out by blockers. Mason's analysis was dead on here:

"One, they pulled him out of the game. Two, he wasn’t making any plays. There comes a time when you’re not making any plays, you should learn from it and humble yourself.

“He should learn from the other 10 guys that he’s playing with. Those guys play hard. They showed that by what they were able to do in the red zone, especially early in the game. He just might be the weak link on their team.”

I can't disagree with any of this. Shut your mouth up; get out there and make plays. He should follow that advice. Crowder is consistently blocked, is rarely in on big plays like a tackle for loss, and is little more than the 11th body on the field. Classic case - the screen TD pass. It was a pretty clear read and he was slow to react and went right to the lineman; then was taken out completely. Didn't even get near the RB to even force a cut in a different direction.

If Mason is classless - what does that make Crowder - who talks continually and never backs it up on the field? Who basically incites other players - like Mason - to play with fire and prove their worth? He benefits no one on this team with his mouth; and offers very little benefit with his poor play.

The defense played poorly today - in some respects it was on Nolan. The Baltimore offense game planned perfectly with delay passes on TE block & release plays and screens (that's how you beat a blitzing team) and Miami just didn't have their bases covered on several of those plays. But, Crowder was basically worthless out there - he gets blocked as much or more than any starting ILB in the league.

ILB would be a core position I would draft next year - along with another DB - on the defensive side of the ball. Add a tough, playmaking rookie and cut Crowder.

Screw Channing Crowder..... As a Dolphins fan I don't owe that guy anything. He is a big mouth sack of worthless garbage and I'm glad someone finally told him so. The comical thing about it is Channing actually thinks he is a good player. He is that stupid. :up:
