Somehow through years of watching Dolphins football I have magically learned to tune out announcers for the most part with the volume going full tilt.

Fuzz out out the bs and take in the info I need. I never watch without sound.
It's all about the eyes.

Many of them really are terrible.
Can't believe you said Gumbel is the best in the biz.
Ugh I cannot stand that guy. He's a kermit the frog sounding, monotone idiot. Dierdorf deserves the criticism as well. He stumbles all over himself and at times says things that leave you shaking your head.

There are some that are good though and I give those credit.


I think Monday Night football finally got it right with Tirico which is who I think is the best in the biz along with Gruden and Jaws. Best crew all around.

I too hate Joe Buck as an announcer. He is not only dull, but doesn't even seem to know what's going on often.

 

Dierdorf is a BUF homer and adds nothing insiteful to the broadcast ... really not sure why he remains in the booth to be honest.

 

I agree with most of this. There is one exception; the one that I completely disagree with is in the bold.

 

John Gruden is great! How much does that guy love Ronnie and Ricky! I love Jaworski's energy too and he's pretty much a straight shooter.

 

Listening to the Dolphins radio broadcast last weekend was pretty bad too. Even they were ****ing the names up

 

Yep, we see very much eye to eye.
Gruden and Jaws are about the only 2 in the business worth listening to.
Aikman is actually pretty good as well.
Add Tom Jackson and that pretty much sums up everybody I can listen to either pre, during, or post game.
The worst?
The Pleamaker is an illiterate hack that ruins the English language, and is rarely even understandable.

Dan Dierdork should never ever have been put behind a microphone.
In fact, this ignoramous is a poster child on why head to head contact is dangerous. He I'd the Bill Walton of the NBA. Both were great players, neither should ever be seated in fron of a microphone.

 

I like Dick Stockton and Daryl. They are a good crew.
