Thats crazy. Technology is absolutely amazing nowadays. It just keeps getting better and better.
Btw, the wings on the mice is freaking awesome . Could you imagine seeing that little squirt running around your house? I would crap on myself to say the least. -
I just read this as well on another site. I just kept thinking...are we playing GOD? This is a Frankenstein kinda thing. Something is bound to go wrong with this kind of thing. Image every psycho billionaire buying a pet dino in the black market.
-
I've said it before, I'd pay damn good money to see a t-rex in the flesh.
If it's possible...bring it on! -
God does much more than clone in an enhancer for a gene that codes a receptor protein involved in hair color. :wink2:

What would be more pimp than having a pet T-REX?
Can you imagine? Everytime you take him out for a walk..he wrecks havoc.alen1 likes this. -
Remarkable work. I am surprised though that they choose (or were forced) to publish with PlosOne.org.

BTW You may be interested to know that there was a whole family of marsupials that parralel the mammals in the food chain such as marsupial Bears,Lions,Wolves etc..

The thylacaleo, marsupial lion, wasn't replaced by anything. Basically all the big critters it fed on died out (just co-incidentally at the same time as the "totally in tune with the environment and lived in balance and harmony with nature" first Australians arrived) and hence no more big predators.

Some theorize thats how the Mammoths and big game died out in the American continent too.The arrival of the hunter gatherers to the continent.

We may see cloning hit the market eventually, for a steep price, of course. How much would you pay to have your old faithful dog reborn as a puppy again?
-
I'd pay good money to eat a T-Rex steak
-
I'll netflix it!

Yeaaaahhhhh. Its got Swarzanegger in it and its not Predator, Conan, or the Terminator... dont expect anything to great.opfinistic likes this.

Funny how all of these big critters all over the world that managed to survive ice ages, warm periods, continental drift, etc. etc. etc. all managed to become extinct at the same time that humans showed up.
For the record I'm not on the "hunted to extinction" bandwagon as there are few verifiable instances of that happening as a proportion of total extinctions even in the modern world. -
Haha that's certaintly the very least. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I'd have one of those little guys scurrying (jeez this word wouldn't even work for them anymore) through the air...alen1 likes this.

I wonder how a T-Rex would get along with my basset hound...

Which is why you smack it on the nose and say "No Bad boy/girl"

Mini rexes? Like toy dog breeds? Imagine a little 9 pound T-Rex nuzzled up next to you on the couch while you watch Discovery Channel and share beef jerky with him.

I hope I'm still alive when they clone a dinosaur I think it would be awesome to see something alive that died out 65 million years ago.
