I was just reading some information regarding Crabtree 6'3 214. He is a very good body controlled receiver and similar to Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerals was and does not have blazing speed which seems to be similar to What Crabtree lacks but exceptional hands. Fitz slimmed down a bit this year to around 216 for some quickness. It is an observation and I would Value everyones thoughts on us trying to get him if available with one of our 2nd Round picks.

Very tough to say exactly what Crabtree is going to turn into. He hasnt even played football that long.,..which could be good..or just as easily bad.
Agreed with my bro, he wont be there when we pick in the second, very very good chance he will be long gone before we pick in the first. -
Just kidding Alen, hows things going?
Tell me Capt stats, how do Crabtree's numbers stack up with Roy Williams (Detroit to Dallas RW)?
That is actually the reciever he reminds me most of in recent history. -
Crabtree is the player who will go in the top 5, but who will take him, Cinci or Seattle is the uknnown.
Not a chance he makes it to pick #25, let alone #44.funkdat likes this. -
I'm not sure how his statistics stack up to Roy Williams as I don't know the specifics stats of Williams at Texas but I think Roy is one of the leaders in receptions and yards in Texas history.
I think that may be a good comparison. Hadn't really thought of that one to be honest. They both round off routes and both can get up there. Roy ran a late 4.4 though and I don't expect Crabtree to do the same as Crabtree comes off more quick than fast to me.
Off-topic note - Chris Mortensen says that the Cardinals are willing to listen to trade offers for Boldin this off-season.azfinfanmang likes this. -

I would not use their college numbers as a good comparison being that Crabtree plays in a crazy pass offense but he pretty much did what Roy did in 4 years in 2 years
Crabtree 231rec, 3,127yds, 41tds
Williams 241rec, 3,866yds, 36tdsazfinfanmang likes this. -
if there were'nt as many potentially great left tackles in the draft he would be the unquestioned #1 pick, hes top five regardless and imo, the most electrifying receiver to come out since randy moss. hes as good as calvin johnson imo.

I have not seen as much of Crabtree as others, but I have never thought of him as a Fitz type of receiver. I just don't see him going up and making the same kind of plays that Fitz made while at Pittsburgh. Crabtree is a talented receiver that plays in a pass-happy, gimmick offense so I also don't know how much we can go on stats.
Personally, I think Crabtree is a risky top five pick. He is nowhere near the player that Fitz or CJ was coming out of college. I don't know what it is about him, but I can't help but think of guys like Michael Clayton and Rashaun Woods when I think of him. It really would be of no surprise to me if Nicks ended up the jewel of this WR class. He's a bit unpolished as compared to some guys, but I think he has shown some of that Fitz, CJ, Andre Johnson, etc . . . type stuff. I see Nicks play, and I think "stud." I just don't get that feeling watching Crabtree. -
Crabtree wont be taken in the top 10.

The one thing that both CJ and Fitz have that Crabtree hasnt shown is absolutely STICK on their fingers.
I remember the hi-lights of Fitz while at Pitt and same with CJ coming out a couple years ago. Many times, they made their prospective QB's look much better than they were. Throw it anywhere within a 5yard square and those guys are gonna get the ball.
I have seen much of Fitz since being in the NFL... Nothing changes there. Many times Warner doesnt even throw it too him or wait for him to get open. He throws it as soon as the DB turns his back to face Fitz. At that point, not many if any DB's are gonna beat Fitz to the ball...and he very very rarely drops anything....everASUFinFan likes this. -

The kid is 20 years old and dominated his craft. does anyone remember the texas game. consistent play making ability, aggressive nature, strong human being..hand eye cordination that is off the charts....ive seen him catch the ball in tough situations without looking it in. Very gifted receiver, better then anyone in the draft even though they have two years on him. -

without knowing the facts i would venture to say that he put up better numbers in his true freshman and sophmore year then any receiver in history..dont quote me on that...also were not talking about some small conference this kid played in, the big 12 is one of the best. this was a kid, who looked like a man, playing with boys. -

Seein that me, you and stiches are chatting here during the superbowl, THATS THE REASON WHY ANQUAN BOLIN WOULD BE PERFECT HERE.....did u see the way he turned that sh@# up at the end and went for the 6...thats a mentality that cannot be taught.

If you look at the cardinals on paper, they are a more talented team then the steelers...even on defense. -
Against similar competition here is the breakdown from last year: Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Texas A&M
Bryant: 28 recs, 483 yards, 7 tds
Crabtree: 33 recs, 323 yards, 3 tds
For the record I thought Crabtree was better last year ('07), and I also thought Bryant was the best WR in the country for most of the year (had a few bad games, but he was their passing offense entirely it seemed). -
And I'd love Boldin, but I really don't want to part with either of our first two picks for him. :-/
