Please stop dude. I am so sick of these threads. I know this is your first thread and everything but the thing is just because we would of gotten Drew Brees doesnt mean we would of won a superbowl or we would of madw the playoffs every year. The fact is we went with Culpepper and we got the best LT in the game right now in Jake Long. Please lock this smh

Brees was a boss. Not too many QBs who can lead a long 70 yard drive with a minute on the clock and no timeouts either. -

Yea I didnt really see the game at all. Should they have rolled him out and maybe tried to run it in or something?

It doesn't bother me watching Brees doing well after Culpepper failed.
1) Shoulder injuries are notorious for slow healing and Brees is the only QB who has ever come back from serious shoulder surgery to be better than he was before. Knee injuries on the other hand are usually straight forward and easier to come back from. When making the decision in '06 the medical risk was very heavily in our favour.
2) Culpepper had several very good seasons in Minnesota. Brees had one good season in San Diego. Past performance is usually the best predictor of future performance, and on that score Culpepper had proven he had been a better QB than Brees had been up to that point in their respective careers.
How I view it is that the Dolphins made the smart logical decision, then the dice got rolled and we got snake eyes. On what was known at the time the decision was made Culpepper was the surer bet and Brees the riskier bet. -
The one thing I saw tonight was that I was unbelievably anxious for Monday to come. I want to see how the Fins come out and see if Henne has what it takes to go toe to toe with Brady.

I'd ask for the stuff you're smoking but it almost seems too good to be true, and I've been warned against stuff like that. -
Brees was outplayed, plain and simple. period. end of story. -
Yea its ridiculous to even bring it up nowadays. I wasn't on the site when it happened but I am sure it was argued to death for years. Also, if it was my guess I would say this guy is a Jets fan and just signed up : (

Does it bother me? No, why would it? It's been five and a half years.

I acknowledge the fact that the franchise made a mistake back then, but it is what it is; history.pacadermng67, Stringer Bell, Disciple and 2 others like this. -
Some people just can't let the past go.I'm still mad that Csonka,Kicke and Warfield left fot the WFL.

I fail to see the point of threads reminding us of this mistake, are we crying in our beer STILL? Time to GET OVER IT!!!

We could've drafted Tom Brady in rd 5!! Aaaagh!
It still kills me to this day that we blew it and passed on him.
 -
It doesn't bother me. But, when I watch the Saints play, ya, I'll have a thought, "Damn, sure would be nice to have him in Miami." In Brees' case, it really could have been the case.
It's sour grapes though. He's not the QB. There isn't much you can do now. -
I'm just messing with you, bud. I agree with you. I thought Aaron Rodgers out played Drew. The Packers really took the pedal off the acceleration in that 2nd half though, both offensively & defensively. -
it still pisses me off we went with culpepper, yea.
