Ah, there is also the reality that a website is a business, it may be fan centric, at the end of the day, the lights have to stay on as it were, and the other reality is football fans as a whole are a competitive lot.

Gee. You were the first mod I met on this website. Due to both Nostalgia and laziness, I still have the message from December 2008 welcoming me to the site.

Really? I wouldn't go as far as that Deej, I also hang out on one other Dolphins forum but with 500k posts here, it is clear where my dolphins home is.

 

I wasn't even online when all the drama went down. I still got lifetime free Finheaven VIP (which is really bad atm) from Muck waaay back in the day. :lol: but anyway since I missed all the drama, and never really cared to look into it I never had a problem going to both places.

Here is a little more personable (like FH was back in the early 00's) but not quite as active as the other board's main forum. The fact that I don't have VIP here honestly probably why I feel that way though.

Main thing is I work from home (I'm working as I'm typing this lol) so I need both forums to help with the boredom. :D

 

It's true brother, I don't know how to explain it..I guess I just love my boy's and girls here too much...

I find myself wanting to check people so bad on that other site, but i just can't do it man...your my bud Pod, I think the Comraderie here has something to do with it..

 

For me Deej, I can dig what John is saying about no animosity, but I'm such a cheerleader for the underdog that I sometimes go to the smaller Dolfans sites to just hang out and see if their forum can grow, there are a couple of Dolfans websites that are SO established that they really don't need the traffic.

Some others have really great content but are a bit slower so I like to pop in and chat and hang out for a bit just to makes sure there is a "Daily Dolphin" content each day, every day.

I gotta admit, I do not miss the Zoo (remember the Zoo? :D ) and just no longer have the patience to wade through a thread that is just absolute garbage. I'm digging quality over quantity these days.

 

ive actually noticed a slight change in class and respect over there...I believe the etiquette on this site is teaching them a lesson...very slight.

 

I agree with John to a point.
All of us should get along, but their are some who are just out to have some sort of internet persona. Not caring about anyone else's feelings or opinions.
I've made some true friends here, and some enemies evidently. But that's ok, my real friends have made all that crap seem trivial in retrospect.
I don't hold grudges and I don't hate, but I will be more careful and selective on who's threads I post in etc.
If talking about others and trashing them at other sites makes them happy, then that's their problem, not mine.
I want to thank Mal, John, Marty, Mike, Boik, George, Pastor Keith and any of the rest of you guys that kept in touch and made things easier.
It feels good to be back again.:yes:

Brother John, sorry to see you step down as admin, you will be missed in that regard. I understand limited time and "short life" syndrome, I'm in the middle of trying to make things match myself. I hold no animosity for anyone who chooses to attend multiple sites including the one this great site spawned from, I never have. For me unfortunately I think that bridge was not only burned but blown right off the map. With my limited time I save it for this site, my Dolphins home, enjoying the brothers and sisters that I have here. I will enjoy the moments that our paths cross here and hopefully at any events. Live the dream brother, whatever that dream may be.

 

What the bloody'ell has gone on around here? I don't post that often now-a-days due to expanding family and work but did notice a change a few months back that I didn't really enjoy but have noticed that the 'regulars' whose posts I enjoy reading seemed to have disappeared.

I hope the likes of FFIC & dolphindebby don't leave permanently you guys, as well a lot of the guys above, are a large part of the reason I still come to this site.

 

Totally agree. I have formed friendships from this site that have carried over off this site. Meeting brother Greg and his family in the city for beers and wings a few years ago was a good time and there are many others I speak to regularly on aim.

Sadly for some people thats not just an internet persona...just be yoursef and the rest will take care of itself. I'm blessed with a really thick skin so not much really gets to me on a personal level because lifes too short to worry about who doesnt like you and he said/she said crap :up:

Even when John steps down he always seems to be around which is good. I understand the demand on time that being a staff member here has though as in a way you feel obligated to check the staff forums for reported posts/issues and check your pm box for those that need help with stuff. Ive never minded much because most of the stuff I can do from my phone but I could understand why someone would. You spend less time posting and more time helping others which isnt a problem but its another responsibility. Not being married and having no kids...I have all the time in the world :up:

And after the last few posts I left on a certain site, Im pretty sure that bridge is definitely burned so ill be here with ya the whole way dude :lol:
