They used him some in the read option this season......
How is this new news?BigDogsHunt, HULKFish, Bpk and 3 others like this. -
I'd be much happier at this news if we had Delanie Walker.

They used it more as the season went on and Sherman said that was because they didn't want to throw too much at him early. For that reason it doesn't surprise me that they plan to use it more next year.

Happy if they keep using it as much as they did late last season, or even increase the usage a bit, but not too much. Use it like the Wildcat to keep the defense on their toes, except this time we'll not be taking our starting QB out of any rhythm by using it.

Me and this dog are skeptical.
Where did this guy get his info?
Someone on the team in the know? Really? Someone, high enough up to know what offensive philosophy we are going to use BEFORE FA & the draft, decided to tell Schmucky McNobody what we were going to run.MikeHoncho, fins1, P h i N s A N i T y and 4 others like this. -

In a league where the snap count is guarded secret, a person high up enough to have been told what offense we are going to run, just blabbed to the least known reporter out there? Really? C'mon.mbsinmisc and RickyBobby like this. -

There's no point in being secretive about it. Everyone knows he can run so they should be expecting to see him have a little more freedom in his sophmore season.
If true though it makes Wallace that much more interesting to me. Him along w Miller and Tannehill would be a ton of speed for a defense to try to deal with.Steve-Mo, SICK and finsincebirth like this. -
Much like how we were going to sign Harbaugh, Fisher, McCoy, Manning, Flynn, etc. last year. -

Realizing quickly that his athletic "prowess" wouldn't get him very far, Jamey turned to journalism, even carrying a notebook to Little League games. As a former staff writer at the Palm Beach Post, Jamey has covered the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Marlins and Florida Panthers, and every major college in the state of Florida, including his beloved Gators (class of '98).
As for his Fantasy history, Jamey has won multiple Fantasy Football, Basketball and Baseball leagues. And in 2010, Jamey was recognized as having the most accurate Fantasy Football Draft rankings by Fantasy Pros, which is an independent site that judges Fantasy analysts throughout the industry.
Jamey also is featured on numerous local radio shows throughout the country, and he has appeared on national shows for Fox Sports Radio, Sporting News Radio, Westwood One and SIRIUS Satellite Radio (The Scott Ferrall Show and SIRIUS Fantasy Football). He also is among the few Fantasy analysts to ever appear on The Jim Rome Show.
Not exactly a no name. Also there is the obvious South Florida connection. -
This isn't really a surprise. Mike Sherman said they'd continue to use it, just not "too much". That doesn't really tell you if they'll use it any more than they did last season, a little more, or what.

If we end up running this offense for a significant portion of the plays, I'll be on the "I told you so" end of it when Tannehill struggles with injuries all season.
Like someone said, sprinkle it in to keep the defenses honest, pickup one or 2 big plays/game. saying we're going to run it all the time because it works for RGIII lacks imagination. -
Have you guys even seen Thill try to slide? I think he just wants to take the hit and get tackled, prob from his WR days.

We just spent 15 years in QB purgatory and now that we have one that looks promising we're going to trot out some cutesie offense and get him hurt? I hate everything.
Tannehill is athletic - but he can make plays without turning him into a RB. There's a reason RBs get hurt and don't stay in the league past 30. Why in the world would you want to do that to your QB?
And while he is athletic - let's not pretend he's RG3 or Kaepernick. The payoff just isn't that great.mbsinmisc, Ohio Fanatic, NJFINSFAN1 and 1 other person like this. -
