Hey guys, just saw this one on facebook when I logged in. Take it for what its worth... Does this signify that talks with Bradshaw aren't going well? I didnt want to post it because I dont know how credible this is, but I figured it's worth discussing.

This was out for a while now. Rotoworld posted it a few hours ago. Apparently they new for a while they weren't getting into a real bidding war. Apparently they're allergic to winning.

If we sign Ronnie and don't pick up Bush or Sproles, I'm going to be livid.
Gonna be another boring *** offensive season. -
this is an old tweet, we were still in the bidding for bradshaw after this

Can we just move along. We know what Ronnie is and we know what he thinks he is.
No way we will match his asking price. Let the guy test the market and find out his true value. -

"Oh, but we saved 2.5 million by retaining Ronnie and that is a backup RG!"
This is not over yet, but the FO is run a bit like the team, cannot close the deal. -

One bad year, and everybody's ready to discard him. Come one, the guy's only 28, and he had his one bad year running behind an o-line that everybody recognized as being in need of upgrading. Re-signing him wouldn't be a bad move, IMO.

i don't think ronnie is done by anymeans, i personally blamed our playcalling for his terrible year last year. That and the injuries up front didn't help get a rhythm going. And one carry one sideline, one carry, one sideline split didn't seem to do much for him either.
I would be totally fine with Ronnie comming back. I think his agent will know what the market is willing to pay him and if he's talking with the phins i'm sure there isn't much bidding going on. I think we will get him at a reasonable price.DHPVW, pacadermng67 and Silverphin like this. -

like I said before:
Ronnie and/or Ricky @ bargain prices
then buy the best left-guard available
and suddenly the run-game emerges
the RB stable is flush -
There's nothing wrong with Ronnie, I'd be happy if he came back. Does anyone know what he wants?

Then again, on the bright side, he isn't Marion Barber ... :couch:Ohio Fanatic likes this. -

This is a very good move IMO if Bradshaw is leaning towards staying in NY and Williams already resigning with Carolina.
I'm fine with Ronnie.
We just need Daboll to figure out how to use him to his strengths and for him to stay healthy. -
Ronnie And Marion would be fine. or Ronnie and Sproles. We need three QUALITY RBs.

Not to mention that zone blocking might be like half of our run scheme next year with an emphasis on quick, good decisions. -

I will say I blamed henning for hennes pronblems a lot last year. Its fare to say ronnie was hurt by terrible play calling as well.

I think Ronnie is still able to be effective. Last year was bad for our run game whether it be play calling, blocking or running. I tend to think that it was a combination of the three. Holes weren't being opened for Polite and if they arent open for the full back chances are the running back has to make another decision.
Ronnie did bust that big run against Minnesota although all he had to beat was the blitz. I also think Ronnie has a decent receiving game that we can utilize.siciliansith likes this. -

I hope to see Ronnie back. We know what we get, AND, because he is so rooted in the community, he would most certainly give Miami the hometown discount.
He is proficient in the passing game, and can still put a hurting on an opposing defense. He is also solid in pass-blocking.
I have absolutely NO problem with bringing Ronnie back in. The Thomas/Brown tandem could be effective; if not more effective, than the Ricky/Ronnie Express.
We know Miami is going to play smash-mouth, old school football. We know the Wildcat is not dead. Having a QB who can score TDs instead of FGs could certainly be the piece of the puzzle that puts this team in contention.
I honestly do not know what people are expecting from this team? Miami's foundation is built solely around punishing opposing defenses by ball-control and keeping the defense on the field longer. A couple of 6+ minute drives not only keeps the opposing offense from scoring, but also increases Miami's chances of scoring. Again, with Orton, we might actually start scoring TDs instead of FGs like a couple of years ago.
Now here's the kicker: Miami has a legitimate Top-10 (if not Top-5) defense. Nolan put these guys in position to really put their hands on a lot of balls last year (I know, I left myself open for that one), but they did not convert. I think, with the lockout, it certainly helps out this team early in the year given that we all know that defenses generally click quicker than the offenses.
Unfortunately, I read somewhere that Orton was pretty bad in 3rd down conversions. We know that Henne was tops in that department. So IF Orton comes in, that could be cause for concern.
I am not necessarily sold that Miami gets Orton. I know they're inquiring, as they should. But I would not be surprised if he remains a Denver Bronco. I think the devil is in the details on whether he comes or stays. Miami (I hope) is being pretty smart about this. If they were desperate, I think he would've already been ready for camp tomorrow. He is not. If he does come, I think we will see good market value on both sides (or all three sides, if you include Orton).
Anyway, back to Ronnie: I am not surprised or bothered by the potential of him coming back.siciliansith likes this. -
Geez, you people overreact sometimes. While I have a level of pessimism, at least wait until Friday to see where we finally stand before throwing out all the rants. If they end up getting Orton, Bush, Ronnie and someone at guard, we'll be nicely upgraded. and if it takes a couple more days to acquire them to keep us for overpaying then it's worth it.
Of course, if we end up with BUsh as our only FA signing, I'll be on the soapbox with you.MrClean likes this.
