Looks like we brought back Don Jones, should make an immediate contribution (for better or worse) in some form.

I am happy to see that..he is a good st'er and is getting better as a safety. We will see.
-
OK, cool. He's solid on ST. I would hope that means that either Finnegan or Taylor is healthy enough to play corner too.
-
Interesting. I wonder what that says about Finnegan and Taylor.
-
This might say the most about our return coverage units, which are fourth-worst in both punt and kickoff returns.
He was super on Special Teams.77FinFan likes this. -
I think what this says, if anything outside of they need someone else back there simply from a body standpoint is that it is a way for the team to replace Michael Thomas who was lost for the season a couple of weeks ago. Thomas contributed a great deal in nickel packages etc. Jones knows the system though he may need a couple of days to get back into mental shape so to speak.
Thats my two cents anyway.DOLPHAN1 and Unlucky 13 like this. -
Don't forget Jonathan Freeney has been ruled out for Monday night.
ST help for sure with Jones.Boik14 likes this. -

Some pats fans aren't happy about Jones being released. Looks like BB got cute with releasing him on TG day and trying to slide him to the PS. He was testy when asked about it. Good move for us bringing him back.

Finnegan is most likely not playing Monday night. Means RJ Stanford and Walt Aikens are up and that we see more of Wilson...

The thing I don't get is why did rose go in against the broncos and not Stanford/aikens? -

He's at least familiar with what we do on defense. He's fast too.

Hence why people wonder if you guys even paid attention to the game.MrClean likes this. -
Standford wasn't on the team. We didn't sign him until Tuesday of this week. Coyles plans for Aikens is at Safety, but we did put him in for some series as Rose was lost out there. -
Aikens looks like a corner to me.
-
Aikens likely will see some time at CB, but Coyles has transitioning him to Safety since the summer camps.

He had an INT in limited play against the Raiders this season. -

however, even if so we don't know the story, look at what belicek did with blount, dude was called out by his teammates, but was welcomed back by a coach that may understand how to communicate with the players who are considered malcontents. -
