He's a guy that if you like enough yet place a fourth round grade on, you take him in the third if there isn't any extreme value available.

I was hoping this guy would be a UDFA, but I see that he has too much potential to go undrafted. I think he has great size and is much more athletic than Haynos and would probably be an upgrade. Question is if he is worth a mid round draft pick. I am not sure if that is the case. I also like Nathan Overbay from eastern washington who may go a little later.

One thing I've never really seen put into place permanently would be a defensive scheme where the 3-4 relies on a player like a Geno Atkins attacking from whatever gap he sees fit up the middle next to the NT. He could crash the second blocker against the nose tackle causing havoc. As long as you find a way to make up for the lack of a blocker like a Geno Atkins in coverage he could theoretically play ILB. He's at 6-1, 286. At 6-1, 270 running about as fast as Ayodele isn't it possible for a guy that big to play the TED if the guy behind him is a very high range flexible ILB not so much like a normal 3-4 ILB but rather a D.J. Williams or Ernie Sims?

 

Nate Allen is pretty good IMO. To me, he's not much different than Morgan Burnett, who many like. Both have some discipline issues when it comes to executing their assignments but both have a ton of potential IMO.

As for Jimmy Graham, they were at the Canes practice a month ago so they've shown interest in him before.

 

Miami is also apparently really liking what they see in Cameron Sheffield. They have been putting him through linebacker drills, and he has been showing well in those drills.

 

From everything I've seen on tape, he's pretty stiff changing directions. I assume they like him going downhill. I don't know how good his hips looked in the LB drills but I'll watch it later this week. How did his hips look in your opinion?

 

he's stated that he's willing to play lb so who knows. I wouldnt mind having that free roving DT/DE either. It woud certainly be interesting. I think he's eventually bound for a 4-3 team but I could see him going to a 3-4 team as a DT/DE. If he can make the switch to LB that would be fascinating but I cant project how he would do

 

It would be nice to see both Nate Allen and Jimmy Graham in a fins uniform

 

He probably has a better burst than Lang, but Lang to me is a better all around player.

I could live with taking Graham somewhat early, what I really want though is some answers to lingering questions, we simply cannot move into 2010 with Soliai, Ayodele and Crowder as our up the middle defense.

The results would be very predictable and not very good.

Are you actually grading in-game coaching in the Senior Bowl? It's a glorified scrimmage, for crying out loud. If not for the draft implications this would be even less meaningful than a preseason game.

Jason Witten was a terrible blocker coming out. He learned.

I agree. You can tell Sparano and co really wanted to see how his blocking was with the amount of snaps he took blocking as opposed to doing what he does best. Unfortunately, his blocking was disappointing. Fortunately though, he can learn to improve in that aspect.

 

played great today but not sure i want him. The guys a bit undersized and frankly he didnt go against a single player whose gonna play LT in the NFL. He's a little undersized. Doesn't fit parcells ideals at all at LB.

 

Parcells and Ireland didn't mind drafting a blocking project in Jason Witten. I don't think they'll mind drafting a blocking project in Jimmy Graham, especially if he can be at least as good of a receiver as David Martin.

We need the receiving help more than we need the blocking help.

 

What prevents you from simply starting him in the slot until he returns to block? If anything it'll improve the run offense with him out wide against a smaller man rather than a LB.

 

Graham has his moments. Did you watch him against Wisconsin? He looks as equal or better blocker than Jermaine Gresham. Against Wisconsin, he was doing pretty well against Watt.

I would be royally pissed off if we take a none need position in the 1st round. We NEED linebacker, a FS, WR and TE. We don't NEED a two down NT...

 

Hey, if McClain is there, McClain is the pick. I'm not fully against drafting Brandon Spikes either but i might go with D. Williams over him.

NT is an impossible position to fill. LB isn't. If you can get a NT, you get one. LBs can be found all over the place.

FS would be nice but im not sure theres gonna be one worth taking at 12 at all. Wr would be nice but Dez Bryants the only option there and he'll likely go higher than us too. As for TE, not in the first.

Berry but I dont think he is going to be there. Earl Thomas would be a nice pick if we traded down a few spots to get him.

I agree that Dez is the only WR I would consider at 12. Tate would be good after a trade down.
