Dolphins Meet With Baker Mayfield @ Senior Bowl

Looking like the Dolphins have had “extensive meetings” with Baker Mayfield at the Senior Bowl. Mayfield reported to Robert Klemko of SI.com
Loving this. He showed love. We gave him a nice sit down meeting. Well done Miami. Wouldn’t be disappointed with this pick in the first round one bit.
He'll never make it to us....The Donks want him
VJ is going to implement a college game plan in the Pro's...LOL, what a fool....

Saints, Jets, Miami, and Bills all sat down with him this week.... I know Saints probably really want this guy... He looks like Drew Brees 2.0
There's talk about Denver wanting KC, but I believe that just couldn't be, way too much money for a losing QB that doesn't make players around him good.
My bet is they take Baker and save the money for their horrible OL, I know the Donks have a big interest from him, hell the way things are going Baker may end up going before the supposed top QB's.

I think you meant CK (Case Keenum) but I gotcha... there will be a lot of FA QBs available which I think, in turn, will drop a few QBs in the draft who may have gone higher if there wasn’t a crap load of FA QBs available.
No, Cusions, that's all I hear everyday, I just don't believe for a second they'd pay that loser that much...

I stand corrected... can’t believe I forgot about him and thought of Keenum lol

Grier is doing the right thing with this smokescreen.
Grier didn’t report it. Baker did. So unless Baker works in our FO already, hard to call it a smokescreen right now, especially when you see the other teams that also had meetings with him, those being QB needy teams. Not so far fetched.

He doesn't have to report it SG, he's doing the right thing by having extensive interviews with mayfield, thats the smokescreen..mayfield and the media take care of the rest..

If Miami makes a play on a 1st rd qb then they had BETTER have a plan at shoring up the OL and LB

You can watch him here
You can't read too much into these meetings. This happens every year. That's how the game is played.
Hey, if he's not a screwball, just from a talent standpoint, I'd be totally down with drafting him. I think the odds that he falls to us are extremely low. Jackson may have a better chance at making it to our pick, but I think those chances are pretty slim as well, better than landing Mayfield, but still pretty slim. I also don't think he would be Gase's type of QB, but I could be wrong. There's a lot of QB needy teams and, imo, the pickens' are kind of slim...as usual. We would most likely have to trade up, so the question becomes, are you down with that idea? Personally, I never am.

Personally, I think you’ll see a few QBs fall this year due to the influx of FA QBs that will be available this year.
If Baker is there, I really think he will be the pick. But after this weekend he could very well be gone long before Miami picks.
"The reason so many people misunderstand so many issues is not that these issues are so complex, but that the people do not want a factual or analytical explanation that leaves them emotionally unsatisfied"
Trading up for a QB is fine, as long as you are in YEAR ONE of a team rebuild. Get your QB, then build around him. Since Miami is going into year three, I think Gase has to ride with Tanny. Use #11 to strengthen the team (whether by one good player or a trade down for more picks) and hope with a good enough run game and defense the Phins become a Super Bowl caliber team.
If needed, the next rebuild will come in 2020, as Gase is shown the door and hopefully the next GM/Coach combo starts off with getting a QB to build around. I hope instead we are sitting on top of the AFCEast and looking to repeat as Super Bowl champs by then.
Also, none of the big four at QB are going to last past the #6 pick.
A terrible play call, terribly executed.

A few? Which few do you think will fall? That would pretty much mean all of the top QBs would fall. It's not like there are ten of them.
One or maybe two may go the FA route, but there are still alot of QB needy teams and with the recent success of young players like Wentz and Goff, it can make teams lean towards going that route as success breeds imitation. You sometimes have the Case Keenum type of situation, but those are probably even fewer and further between. Who knows how long that ride will continue.

I’ve seen 5 different QBs all go in the top 10 in mock drafts and in my eyes, in my line of thinking, I feel like all of these guys also have the potential of going top 10.(Not saying they will due to what I think will be QB slides)
Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold w/ the possibility of combine risers like Mason Rudolph, Logan Poolside etc.,
Some QBs Expected To Be Available: (I won’t include Brees and Jimmy G because those guys will definitely resign)
Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, Sam Bradford, Alex Smith, Teddy Bridgewater, Tyrod Taylor, AJ McCarron (RFA/Trade), Jay Cutler, Josh McCown, Blake Bortles w/possibly more being made available like Eli.
Those QBs can all compete in QB camps with late first round picks-3/4th round picks, no problem, seen it a billion times.
QBs needy teams ahead of us :
CLE
NYG (I’ll give em the nod even with Eli)
DEN
NYJ
I like the chances of a few QBs falling.

I have no idea what that means but it made me laugh anyway. =)
