Being a Rutgers fan, I'm happy about this. But I also think he adds nice depth to our line.

I heard his name tossed around earlier during the draft no? Good for depth if he pans out.

He was suppose to get signed earlier this off-season but it was reported that he failed a physical or was not healthy.

Larryfinfan, I think ck has said good things about him.

He had a knee injury that now appears to be fully healed. I guess they waited for this.

If you knew of him you would not say this. This guy is a player, he got hurt in the east/west shrine game and that was the reason he was not drafted.

Not only can this guy play, don't be surprised if by next year he is pushing for a starting spot.

Up coming cuts may end his Miami career before it even starts.

With the lack of depth we have, he just may stick.

That would be nice if he proved to be a solid depth guy. Hopefully he gets some good opp. against the Saints.

Thanks Alen...I read his post in the club...I think this is one of many additions and subtractions that will come in the next few weeks... Once the major cuts begin, I expect Ireland and Parcells to be pretty busy...

No problem. Yeah, I think he can stick with the team as a backup if he impresses and the lack of depth. The acquisitions via waiver wire are likely but most of the guys who are going to be brought in are likely to have just as much experience as Sosa. I know many were high on him come draft time but he had injury concerns.

I dunno bro. He is comming off an injury and has had zilch in camp time. That injury may not be a concern at all, but he is coming into the season real late. It may just be one of those things where you can't pass up a player with experience off the waiver wire, for an unknown commodity like Sosa. When the big cuts start, there will be more deserving players available that will be game ready to back up our depthless line.

i love this pickup. hewas defintiely on my board of people we could go after in the draft. Whether he's ready to play or needs a year of conditioning, strgth training and technique work I dont know but if we can somehow stash him for a year, he could turn into a pretty solid plyr. At least a decent backup

I agree, Adam. I see him at the very least on the Practice Squad, IF he fails to make the active roster. This kid is a bruiser, very similar to Thomas, if I remember him from Rutgers.

Great signing. Waiting for roster cuts and hoping some one falls into our lap would be naive and shortsighted.
Everything I read about the guy is he's a beast. There's no guarantee that anyone any better will be available after cuts.

Easy Killer!:wink2:

The reason this kid wasn't drafted and is an UDFA is because he was injured. He was a good player when healthy and I think he makes the team and he makes the team better.

Now we have to pickup at least one Tackle to upgrade depth in that position.

I think, if worse came to worst, we will be okay at WR. And going into camp that was my biggest concern. I like how Ginn and Hagan have come along. I like what Bess has added. I think Wilford still might be able to get it together. We could bring back Kircus. We have legit options at WR.

I don't think we can sustain a game if one of our tackles get nicked up. I think with Murphy and now Sosa, our interior line is in good shape. We need another servicable tackle. We get that and we'll be well on our way.

I agree. I watched this kid play my USF BULLS two years in a row...and he was outstanding in both games.
