Looks like we have our new fullback who played for Dallas 2004-2006

Goodman Waived?

And replace with who?
Please god no, even as questionable as he has played, please no. Our starters outside of Allen and Bell are suspect, what does that say about our abckups that they can't beat them out? -
Says we need to cut loose all the crap and replace them with good draft prospects next April.
If Goodman is gone, I wont be disappointed. -
Maybe he should watch a week or 2 but I hope he isn't cut. Our depth is not very strong -
Its too bad really, I liked him when we signed him in 06 from detroit. he was a good tackler and was good at breaking up passes. He has declined considerably, probably due to his injury -
At least its nice to know Sparano was not happy with the secondary play and he continues to tweak the lineup. Maybe he hurt Goodman's feelings and he's home pouting.

No official word yet. Both mention Barton being out, but Armando speculates on Barton being gone, while Harvey wonders if Goodman is the one axed.
Generally I don't think it'd necessarily be a problem going without a FB for a week if Cramer was out, since we're primarily a 2-TE offense. But with Baltimore coming to town, they're going to need blockers. Still, I wonder if 6-8, 270-pound Joey Haynos can see live offensive action.
You gotta keep Goodman on the roster IMO. Especially when your #1 CB is hurting and the OL has 10 healthy bodies.
If Goodman is indeed gone, not to worry. I'm sure Jason Allen will slide over to fill the bottom of that depth chart too. :rolleyes:Frumundah Finnatic and TheAnswer385 like this. -

Goodman might not be great, but he's an experienced vet that has played at a pretty good level in the past (2006). If they cut him, who else is there besides Lehan, who shouldn't be starting either IMO? I don't know that we have many/any options right now.
I'd love to get at Asomugha next year and draft a guy. He and Allen would lock down the outside for a year before hopefully the youngin' takes over.Conuficus likes this. -

But cutting Goodman makes an area of weakness even worse, and then you have guys coming in modseason and having to learn all the keys, reads, and checks associated with our defense. Not good right now, unless you have to do it.

Maybe he's just sick, or had to take his kid to school and didnt feel the need to call the coach :pointlol:
I think we are all overreacting... Myself included -
Maybe he can't bear to be seen in public after the way we lost. People deal with things differently. :jump:

See it being very unlikely that Goodman was cut because the secondary is already very thin. Lehan was the only guy that this regime re-signed when they took over so they obviously like what they saw from him and was a starter before the ankle injury. He also has good hands and will catch intercept when given the oppurtunity.
Good move IMO. -

Parcells did this in Dallas to Derek Ross. Ross was viewed as one of their best corners at the time. Parcells cut his *** like he was nothing. Ross was done with football within 3 years.

Goodmen are hard to find but Polite ones are a rarity indeed.
