I was rooting around the news and found this article.

A few cherries in a pile of poop does not a lovely dessert make.
And the b.s. about the practices... such a lame excuse. Every team, including ones that looked GREAT, had only 7 practices.
Just fed up of excuses, 'mitigating circumstances' and sugar-coating things from my armchair fan perspective. I understand Tony HAS to find the positive and try to feed it to us, but I don;t have to swallow it.dolfan32323, MonstBlitz, NaboCane and 3 others like this. -
Agree with the article that safety is becoming a very interesting position to watch. Clemons must have a good preseason to cement his spot. Reshad jones could challenge if he performs well. Also, some think Yeremiah could be slipping due to age. I don;t see Bell losing his starting spot this season, though.
Glad to see Wilson at CB for now. Closer to the LOS, so can blitz and run-support more easily. Also more likely to see the field as a #4 CB than as a backup safety. -
I'm not one to make excuses for what is going on but those teams that looked great in there first game were not completely changing the offense and playing with a qb whose confidence was crushed last year. I mean hell the chargers looked awful in there first preseason game and some are picking them to go to the superbowl. I think that there is so much that the coaching staff had to look at right now on offense that it is going to be a rough start on offense this year.

I wonder if Sparano is axed by week 6 and Nolan is named interim....hmmm

I don't think it will be as bad as all that. The lockout gave us a lot of extra time to work on our new offense and I hope we put it to good use. I still wish we would have picked up Sproles instead of Bush (or both) but at this point you have to dance with who brung ya. I will say this - it will be one of the most interesting seasons the Dolphins have had in a long, long time.

The NFL lockout, 7 official team practices, new offensive coordinator, new offense, Marshall on the sidelines, Bush on the sidelines, typical first preseason game errors and sportwriters (and some of us here as well) wanna write the Dolphins and Sparano off already?
It's preseason for crying outloud. This is where the mistakes are supposed to be made. In fact, as it was pointed in an another thread, Henne's overall performance topped some of the big name QB's in the league on their first preseason outing.
BTW; look for a win in San Diego. Miami's won 4 of the last 5 games played in San Diego and 7 of 8 total. The last time San Diego won back to back games against Miami was December 1993 when San Diego destroyed Miami 45-20 and just edge Miami in the playoffs in January 1995 22-21.
My pick's the Dolphins!!! -
I remember that playoff game and Natrone Means out of bounds clearly at the six....but called a TD. PRE replay obviously.
