I know some read Peter King's MMQB, and like me skip over most of it and look for any mention of the Dolphins. This weeks MMQB, here are the only mention of the Dolphins:

I think we are entering trade-for-a-washed-up-vet-WR territory.

I guess HOush kinda jumps out at you, as a name, but I don't know his story the last year or so. I'm guessing he is shot, or injured.
Still, a 75% TJ Houshmanzadeh is probably a starter for us. We already tried one former Bengal, let's try the less talented one now. -
Also curious about Cotchery and Stucki.

Maybe not on Housh...

If the Phins were in position to make a run at the playoffs, I'd say spending a draft pick on a veteran wideout might be a good idea (depending upon the wideout in question). However, this team looks more like a team that will be picking top-ten again next year in the draft. I'd say save the draft picks, take your lumps, develop what you've got. If you can't raid the waiver wire for a good WR, go after it again next year with some decent ammo.
Worst-case scenario is, they spend a high pick on a veteran guy who doesn't deliver. That would really hurt a rebuilding football team. You gotta be smart.unifiedtheory, The Rev, Ohio Fanatic and 3 others like this. -

Thats a very old list...Cotchery is in Pitt, Briscoe in Washington, Rashied Davis went back to the bears, etc....
Doesnt matter though...no one that list is any better then what we have right now.smahtaz, CWBIII, Stitches and 1 other person like this. -

We need a true deep threat with some size, and who can still produce in the redzone. Not sure I see a blue chip guy who does both at a top ten pick level. -

Maurice Stovall is a guy I wouldn't mind taking a look at.

When your own general manager indicates that he's filled the wide receiver positions with a bunch of 4's, 5's and 6's, that he hopes turn out to have some 1's, 2's or 3's...that seems like a problem, to me.
There's always a silver lining. To me, Brian Hartline, Chris Hogan and Rishard Matthews are the silver lining. But it's just not enough. -
If they wanted to bring in a FA WR, I'd have assumed it would have happened by now.
At this point I think they're going to roll the dice with Hartline/Bess/Nannee and hopefully use a lot of 2WR formations. -
Ive always said Bush could play Flanker, maybe Philbins reading my posts? (Yikes! lol)
Not for nothing though we are seeing more players who player multiple positions (WR and RB)...Harvin and McCluster come to mind immediately where they actually line up at both spots and since Reggie has a comparable skillset I dont really see it as a reach. Let Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller get some carries and see if someone is dumb enough to stick a LB or safety on Bush in 2 Wr + Bush sets?Bpk likes this. -

Philbin and Sherman will most likely use Bush as receiver in the regular season. He is a great mismatch player, no sense in tipping it off of in preseason.
Since it is looking like Tannehill at least for week 1, all you want from the WRs is an understanding of the offense and consistency. We'll likely see a heavy dose of passes to the TEs RBs and slot WRs with a rookie QB anyway.
Pray Wallace can emerge as a redzone threat, and hope the running game can be consistent enough to take pressure off Tannehill. -

Any CFL receivers worth a look? Padre?

I've given up on Roberto Wallace, I think. I don't know that he's getting the separation this offense requires at the position. The more I looked at what he did against the Bucs the more it looked like a mirage. The corner was disengaging in the zone and passing him off to safeties that weren't there early enough, and Ryan Tannehill was making beautiful throws. Even the touchdown wasn't great separation in man coverage, Tannehill just stuck the ball really low to where only Wallace had a chance at it. And he didn't catch it.

I don't understand how other fans read the tea leaves.
Wallace has been taking the mist 1st team reps since Chad got released, Hogan is 3rd string, but they cut Wallace and keep Hogan? -
End of the day, it may be better to use Bush and Thigpen in the slot with Bess kicking to the outside.
Thigpen has some Bryant Westbrook to him, just hope he is healthy enough to show it this week.
Of that list, imo Patrick Crayton is the only name I really like but he oddly old for his number of yrs in the league.
I personally like Cunningham and Fuller, especially Fuller though, would love to just stick him on the field and see what he has to offer when it counts.
