Interesting. It appears that Matt Roth is finally out of the doghouse...and inthe unemployment line.
Anyone want to take a wager on whether or not he shows up in New England in time for our game with them?HULKFish, Frumundah Finnatic, jetssuck and 4 others like this. -
WTF????
Really, don't know what else to say.
Obviously there was some reason but support of this leadership team aside I'm not a real fan of simply "releasing" talented players.
My initial reaction is that this is a bad move and one probably ego related from a rift between the two parties. -
-
It isn't like we are going to miss him.
I would also like to think there is much more to this situation than we will ever know. I don't think we would waive him if not for a very good reason.
I don't want to see him to go to the Pats though.HULKFish likes this. -
Browns could use Roth. Rather see him go there than the Pats. I liked Francis coming out a few years ago, not sure what to think of him now though.
-
You haven't watched his work against the run have you? -
-
Haven't seen it anywhere else yet. -
Yeah Marty, it's not like there are 10 people paid to solely cover the dolphins and what is going on with them or something...
I'm shocked, and for some scrub *** Lions player? -
Doubt he makes it to the Patriots. He's still a commodity.

Wikipedia page is already update too, crazy how fast things go these days: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikaika_Alama-Francis -

Gotta remember, if he is claimed, the Pats will be one of the last teams in line. One of the lesser teams would grab him I would think.
Buffalo?
Or anyone running a 3-4 for that matter. -
This story was fishy since Day 1. From training camp to IR to this. Something went on behind the scenes that we are not privy to and may not ever know. Just an odd odd trip this Roth saga has taken

I just don't get it. Not even a little bit. I mean, I know there are things we'll probably never really know or truly understand (about the Roth situation). But, still...I'm just stunned.
And, I'm gonna be royally pissed if he ends up in NE. :tantrum: -
-
BS ! I'm still not buying it.Wake me from my sleep later.
-
And we will not miss him because he hasn't played but a couple of games the whole season. How can you miss what isn't there? I wish things had worked out with Roth but again...we don't know the whole story. If his play outmatched the reason for waiving him, then he would still be here. I don't see the FO shooting themselves in the foot by being spiteful.
And I didn't attack you personally.unluckyluciano likes this. -
Maybe he has a drug suspension coming down the pipe

If you are going to release him, you would've done it before, when he was injured, everyone was pissed at him, and he wasnt showing that he cared for his teammates. But now he is back on the field and playing "well". Bad timing. Hopefully the new guy helps out,
-
I liked Roth. He offered some youth for the future at the position unlike those dinosaurs Joey Porter and Jason Taylor. Isn't the objective to keep young players? Sometimes the Dolphins make me scratch my head. :pity:
-
There definitely is something going on behind the scenes. But he was a free agent next year and most likely would not have been resigned seeing his "situation" with the Dolphins.
I guess you might as well try and develop someone then sit someone on the shelf with no hope of getting anything out of him.
We certainly will miss his run stopping though. -
