Draft Tek 5 round mock 12/27/12

There could be some things in the attitude history that may set off Miami's "diva" alarms. Nothing I can confirm, but suggestions of an iffy attitude.

Honestly, you can see a little diva in his body language when watching film on him. There were a few plays where he showed his quarterback up some with his body language and actions. His quarterback was terrible though.

I think that the Cal QB is Allen's brother. That might have something to do with it, I don't know.

I consistently see Kenny Vaccaro in mock drafts going top 25. But I rarely see him mentioned here as a possibility. Are you draft gurus not high on this guy?

BTW, Anthony Barr and Phillip Thomas in the 3rd round!

They have Bailey going in the 5th round?

As to Barr, Todd McShay was talking about him on ESPN last night and seemed to be indicating that he might enter the draft this year after all.

His quarterback was his brother. I think he felt comfortable enough with him to express that kind of dissatisfaction and not have it go down awkwardly.

Yet its his brother being the QB that lays at the source of some of the suggestions I'm getting. Specifically, I hear Keenan Allen made it a condition of his accepting an offer that his brother would have to come along too and be given a chance at the starting job or else he'd walk. Cal was dumb enough to accept it. I've heard this was why Bama walked away from Keenan. Although I think SEC teams thought he should play safety.

Jackson Jeffcoat in rd #2? And his comments about Jeffcoat's dad were simply..wrong, Jim Jeffcoat was a great pass rusher.

Trufant with #2 in rd 2? A cb?

Phillip Thomas and Monte Ball?

Did this guy even watch our games?

That would be sweet! He'd be my #1 target with our first round pick.

Not sure I would trust Todd McShay's word on that. Especially relayed in the form of "It sounds like he was saying...". No offense to anyone.

Well, to be more specific about it McShay was reviewing the UCLA draft prospects. He had Fauria pegged as a likely 3rd rounder, Jonathan Franklin a 2nd or 3rd rounder, I forget. Then he seemed to get a bit excited talking about the best of the UCLA draft prospects- Anthony Barr, and said that Barr could be a 1st rounder if he declares for the draft.

I would only put so much stock in McShay's words as well. I though that Barr had for all intents and purposes decided to return to UCLA, but McShay was acting as if he might declare after all.. As to whether there's any merit to what McShay was saying as per Barr- I have no idea.

To hear you describe it in more detail, I'm taking it with an even larger grain of salt. He's not even contradicting anything that's already out there. He's just talking about Anthony Barr for ratings.

The way I see it, Ireland won't pay Richie I 4.6 million or whatever his number is, and we have no natural replacements for him on the roster unless it is Samuda or Yeatman?

I'd be bitter if we passed on Gerald Hodges in rd 4 and hadn't yet taken a LB.

I tend to agree with you though, paper thin at Lb

I'd love to land a player who can play Will and also put his hand in the dirt and get after the passer in a situational role.

The Dolphins passing on WR Stedman Bailey...in the 5th round...at that point this whole mock is just for laughs.

Very impressed with Hodges when I saw him play this year at the Wisconsin game. I think he'd be a developmental guy to groom behind Burnett and/or Dansby.
