The dude was on a post-game presser.
Clearly doesn't like Tua. Wants the Dolphins to go get Watson. Talked like it was a no-brainer.
No reference to coaching or play calls or anything wider.
Came across as arrogant.
I'm sure some people would love his takes.

He says he's certain that Watson gets traded this week and it's better than even the Dolphins land him. Doesn't think he'll be traded for more than 1 first round pick and some conditional picks.
He thinks they need to step up and make the deal even if they can't avoid trading the farm.KeyFin likes this. -
One of the things to consider, whether we keep Grier and/or Flores or move on, is that this years college QB group are performing abysmally. This is gonna be an EJ Manuel year imo so I'm either keeping Tua for year 3 or bringing Watson. Maybe both. I would not be looking to have a GM come in and pick a new QB. -

And if we can't get top dollar for Tua, then I'd keep him as a young, developing backup. There is zero reason to rush into a trade with a kid so young on year two of his contract.JJ_79 likes this. -
We have to buy an online. I don’t trust the scouts on OLINE picks at all they have been one if not the poorest drafted positions over the last 15 years!!
we need to trade for / buy younger studs that have proven they can play. Jackson has cost use multiple games himself with bad plays and penalties -
I dont think the trade happens for Deshaun this year, he will be traded to some unknown team next year.
the only thing im looking forward to at the deadline is offloading our expensive secondary to another team for picks.. also if we have no plans on extendibg Gesiki then he can go too this week.KeyFin likes this. -
Honestly i would consider a move that makes us better in the future… if theres a star player available, make the move.. so many times we see moves done on the deadline just for that season… if theres a star defensive end available, trade him and make him the pillar of your d line for the next 3 years
Im not sure if such players are available but id like to explore all options, not just draft picks -
If it were, me, and I knew that all eyes were going to be watching me, I would treat Tua with absolute class in this situation. I would do my best to deal him ASAP. Now, there is an understandable time sensitive component and lots of moving parts happening at the moment, so that could affect things. If a trade does not happen until near the deadline, that would certainly complicate the Tua situation. Realistically, I am not sure if a deal could be hashed out in a day or so. I really would try and make it happen, and if I got a reasonable offer, I probably take it.
If no deal can be made at the time, I would give him my assurances that I would trade him by draft day weekend of next season. Finally, I would ultimately give Tua the final decision on how he wants to end the year. If Watson is eligible, and Tua wants to start until Watson is ready and back him up, he is certainly welcome. If Watson is placed on the ineligible list and we could not trade Tua in time, I would ask him if he wants to start, but I would be willing to pay him to stay home if he no longer feels comfortable on the team.
