Does anyone know exactly when the Dolphins changed their endzone logo from the scripted "Dolphins" lettering to the current "MIAMI" logo in block letters ? I`m trying to determine what their home record is since the changeover took place.

In that case since 2009 the Dolphins are 14-18 at home. The first 2 years since the change (2009 , 2010) the Dolphins were 5 -11 at home. I suspected all along the reason for this is the endzone logo change.:tantrum:. Lets change it back to the original "Dolphins" script. The field painters will have more work to do but its worth it.

The end zone script is not a reason we have a recent bad home record.

I, for one, think it's because we fired long time pop corn salesman Jim Richells, who in the 1990s was selling popcorn during great times in section 100-156. They fired him in 00'

The Steelers share a natural grass field with Pitt, and they have their own logo and name on the field for every home game. If they can do it, why cant Miami?

I think we've been better at home that last few years than the previous 2.

The end zone paint just may have something to do with it.Just to be on the safe side ,part of the Hurricane penalty sentance should be they don't get their name painted there until they are bowl eligible again.
By then we will see if the record improves to insure it's the painted endzone that has caused all those losses. -

I like MIAMI. For those of us who don't live in Miami anymore it's nice to be reminded of home. At least, that's the case with me.

check out this video. around the 7:15 mark, they show the end zone in a MNF game vs. the Jets. It says "MIAMI". Then they keep showing it, and it says "MIAMI" all the time.
In the playoffs, after the Orange Bowl would be played, they would sometimes leave the "orange bowl" logo on there. In 1985, they painted the end zone with 'Dolphins".RGF likes this. -

Thanks for posting that video 126, I watched the whole thing through and then realized that not once did I notice what was painted in the endzones. I was too caught up in the memory of watching Marino perform his magic. I watched it a second time and when I noticed the "Orange Bowl" painted in the endzone I realized that I had forgotten all about that also. Thanks for pointing that out. At 12:11 of the video thats the endzone lettering that I think looks best.Trivial stuff but I like the way it looks. -
&*%&%^ IT.... Sec. now I have to wait until I can get something better this @&!!#*#!! 54 MB (I laugh in your general direction) WiFi hotspot for internet up here in the hinterlands - DSL is supposed to be on the way...... (I glad the BOSS has an abundant supply of patience) and I have to wait......
AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a memorial video of Dan throwing is enough to rekindle some small spark of insanity and insensibility for Miami Dolphins phans...
For others it is like unto the old hymn spoken forth by the little old church lady in the back of the sanctuary. The preacher asked for hymns which reminded the congregation of some of the events in their lives. To their surprise, he included "Sex." No one spoke up, but this little old, bonnetted dressed in white and lace, diminutive grandmother finally spoke.. She piped up... bless her heart, and sang... "Precious Memories., How they Linger..."
