I know a couple guys were concerned about RG3's commitment to professional football.

I know a lot of people keep saying Washington will trade up for him. But what stops us from hitting first? Most likely will only need to trade with Minny to get him.

Too many holes to fill still. Now that rookie salary caps are in check trading up for the #2 will be EXPENSIVE in draft picks. I honestly don't think Miami has the talent or depth on the team to afford the luxury of moving up from #8/9 to #2. -
good. with him declaring. Washington will trade up for him, leaving better talent for us.

We should have sucked harder than we did, but still managed to beat the Jets.

I don't know about you guys, but I would love to have him in a Dolphins uniform for the next 10-15 years or so. He is a winner and seems to be dangerous both in the air and on the ground. It looks like it would be a good move to me.

I'm not interested in giving away picks/players to move up for him. If he somehow fell into our lap at 8/9 fine.
But the only QB I'd be willing to trade a sh*tload for is Andrew Luck.PhinsRDbest and Desides like this. -
What also would not surprise me is the Browns trading their two first round picks this year, plus a second round pick to the Rams to move up two spots and they end up taking RG3. He would certainly be a major upgrade for the Browns at the QB position and it does not appear that the Browns front office is sold on McCoy as the QB of the future for the Browns. -

People say Kolb's contract will drive up the price, but idk that may keep the price down...teams may look at that Cardinals predicament as to why not to offer that type of contract. May end up being incentive loaded which isn't bad. At least, he would have to earn it. -

Our main disagreement concerns Jeff Ireland and whether or not he is a quality GM. I don't feel he is and you do. I do respect your opinion, even if I strongly disagree with you on this issue. In fact as much as I disagree with you in regards to Ireland, I sincerely hope that I am wrong and that the problem with the Dolphins was all coaching and that Ireland is a much better GM then I give him credit for. I would love nothing more than to see the Dolphins succeed next year under a new coach and you be able to tell me, "I told you so".
To see the Dolphins finally turn this team around and once again become relevant in the NFL, certainly is what is important to you and me. So I hope you are right in your assessment of Ireland, because if your not, we will probably be conducting a new search for a GM and head coach in the next few years.PSG likes this. -
Pretty much sums up my feeling too.
I hope I get to eat a big heaping pile of crow in the near future regarding Jeff Ireland as well. -
I wouldn't mind the Dolphins drafting Weeden in the fourth round if he is still on the board, but I just don't see him being anything but a backup QB at the professional level. At least if the Dolphins don't waste a pick on him until the fourth round, if he doesn't work out, they will not have wasted a first, second, or third round pick on him. -

Don't touch him, let someone else overpay to move up. I'd move for Luck or Barkley but Barkley staying screwed us.
I'd take BPA in the first (damn DeCastro would fit in nicely) and try and move for Weeden in the 2nd (maybe trading up) just like Mr. Clean is trumpeting.
We get 5 years of high level play from Weeden? Perfect. Start looking for a replacement every year while he gives us a legit quarterback.MrClean likes this. -
