Ive never understood why people get hung up on bye weeks. I'd rather go 14-1 and make the playoffs with a stronger team than I might have with a 15-0 team because I settled.

Agreed. My team in our ThePhins league has about 6 guys off week 4. I have it penciled in as a loss.

Option 2: Miami D @ home against NE

Which would you choose?

Both against good offenses, but I'd roll with the SEA-fense for 15 of 16 weeks, sitting them down only against DEN.

Thats the thing, to not play Seattle and at home to boot is a shame.....but I really think Miami can give Brady a go this week...

If anyone in a league drops Welker and you have bench space he might be smart to stash until after week four. I accidently drafted him in a league and I'm holding onto him but Ive seen/heard of some people overreacting to his suspension and dropping him.

I pulled Garcon last minute to start Harvin in one of my leagues. Looking like it may have been smart. We will see.

Neither. Find a different one. Philly (vs Jax), the Jets (I know I know but theyre playing Oakland and a rookie qb) or Pitt (vs Cleve)

I drafted Seattle in my other league with the intentions of starting them every week regardless of opponent. Did no one watch the SB last year? :lol: Plus they offer an X factor bonus in the return game. I had no qualms starting them tonight and would have done so instead of Miami.

I don't like drafting defenses early. I think you can find a defense comparable towards the end of the draft and in FA.

Jordy Nelson hurt me by not having a big game for me in one league abd helped by not having one against me in another.

A Harvin TD would have been nice and capped off his night.

All taken, I am in a 14 team league and had the 14th pick.....defenses score point in my league thats why I picked them early, played them last night.....I win...

Personally I don't think too far into when I draft any position other than kicker. It depends what is on the board and league scoring rules. If defense helps in your leagur it was a great pick Finyank. In the end ig you win games that is what matters.

So you think far into drafting a kicker? :lol:

Personally, I don't think it makes sense to pass on Seattle in the 8th round to take my first bench guy or any other player who doesn't really offer a positional advantage.

Cobb got the TD reception, and I was glad to see him returning punts(return yds league) even more encouraging to me is that he is the best WR on the Packers. The 50+ P.I. Call is what got them that TD early. Not to mention Jordy looked like a scared b--ch.

Jordy didnt have a great night but he's still a better WR and fantasy play than Cobb.

My fantasy team that I have money on this week is:

QB- Nick Foles - I love how people are sleeping on Nick Foles. He's got Jacksonville at home. I smell 4 tds.
RB- Marshawn Lynch - I like read option RBs and it paid off Thursday. 25 fantasy points all by himself, lol.
RB- LeSean McCoy - This was a given. I expect 25 or more fantasy points against Jacksonville at home.
WR- Marques Colston - People are sleeping on this guy. The last 7-8 games of 2013, he was a top 3 fantasy league WR.
WR- Jeremy Maclin - I got him for cheap because of his injuries last year. The #1 receiver on the #2 offense in the NFL. MONEY
WR- Julian Edelman - I hated to do it, but this will be Brady's top target and my league is PPR. MONEY
TE- Jordan Cameron - The Browns have no one else to throw it to. MONEY
D- Chicago Bears - Playing against the Bills at home; EJ Manuel is garbage.
K- Shayne Graham - New Orleans should put up a crazy amount of points against ATL's horrible defense.

Nelson has been productive over multiple seasons in his career, catches a lot of deep passes (yards) and is a lock for over 7 TD's every season. Even the last year he didn't break 1,000 yards he was on pace but missed it due to injuries and still scored 7 TD.

Cobb is talented, has potential, but hasn't even posted a 1,000 yard season yet in his career. He may or may not end up better but Nelson is the best and safest play as of now. Plus Nelson also works the slot where he is generally unstoppable. Seattle did a very nice job Thursday though.

I'd say Nelson is more consistent but Cobb is a bigger playmaker.

Cobb missed 80% of the season and was on pace for 1200 yards and 13tds. Jordy is a solid WR, but Cobb is an emerging star. It's his 3rd year in the league so he is evolving. He is a greater asset to the Packers already, Thursdays game was just another example of that.

Actually, Cobb's 5.5 games extrapolate to roughly 86 catches, 1190 yards, and 10.7 TDs.
Meanwhile, Nelson totaled 85 catches, 1314 yards, and 8 TDs, and he did it with CRAP at QB for 7 games.
If you wanna compare apples to apples then extrapolate Nelson's games w/ Rodgers. 94 balls, 1559 yds, 12.4 TD. Math amIright, who needs it.

Lulz, what a clown statement. Jordy already IS a star, and.. and.. and.. he plays on the outside where the REAL receivers line up. Cobb is a very good player and a nice weapon to have but he's still a slot receiver who does 74% of his damage on passes of 10 yards or less, typically against linebackers, safeties, and nickel corners, and he has the inherent advantages of having the entire field to work with while often given a free release. If Cobb had to spend 90% of his time on the outside, he'd be playing in Jordy's shadow who catches 48% of his balls beyond 10 yards and has to do most of his damage with his back to the sideline and frequently against each team's best corner.

Even with Cobb's positional advantage, Jordy still outperforms him. When Cobb is running 40 yards down field he might have a linebacker on him ; Jordy will never be afforded that advantage on the perimeter. Cobb did a nice job drawing the PI, but Jordy would've attacked that throw and probably come down with it like he routinely does. Jordy has 14 receptions of 40+ yards since 2011; Cobb has just 2... so which receiver do you think McCarthy & Rodgers look to most when they need a big play? Cobb's stats get boosted because he's afforded the advantage of space, space that Green Bay's offense and Jordy help provide him. On the boundary, Jordy doesn't have that same advantage. His stats get boosted because of the special s**t he does when the ball is in the air and after the catch with defenders draped on him. Cobb averages 2.2 first downs per game in his career [83 total]; Nelson averaged 3.3 during that time [148 total]... so what receiver do you think McCarthy & Rodgers turn to most when they need to move the chains? Cobb has 6 career redzone TDs; Nelson has 18 in that span.... so what receiver do you think McCarthy & Rodgers turns to most when they need a score?

He is a greater asset to the Packers already, Thursdays game was just another example of that.LMAO, step away from the paint chips dude. Firstly, Nelson was targeted 14 times Thursday, 5 more than Cobb. He caught 9 balls for 83 yards against the best secondary in the league and was a few inches over the white line from tacking on a score, so just stop.

Secondly, who the heck do you think trots off the field when Green Bay brings in a fullback or extra TE? It's not Nelson, genius. According to ESPN stats, Cobb has yet to catch a pass in 2 WR formations... in his career. So you tell me who McCarthy values the most.

Thirdly, for fun let's look at each receiver's "ultimate" season by mixing and matching their best stats since 2011.


Cobb: 80 catches, 954 yards, 8 TDs, 15.0 YPC, 12.1 yards/attempt, 45 first downs.
Nelson: 85 catches, 1314 yards, 15 TDs, 18.6 YPC, 13.2 yards/attempt, 60 first downs.

**Keep in mind Cobb's best YPC & YPA are skewed by only having 31 targets and 375 yards that year, with 61 yards coming on one reception.
Yup but somehow Cobb has emerged as a greater asset than Nelson. <yawn>
