Network TV for Fedor's StrikeFarce debut.
I am REALLY hoping Rogers destroys Fedor. I can't stand Fedor anymore. If he loses to Rogers, it'll kill two birds with one stone. StrikeFarce would be done, and Fedor's reputation and future would be ruined. M-1 Global wouldn't be able to claim they had the "best HW in the world", and would be laughed out of MMA.
Oh, how great it would be to see that happen...

Fedor is a joke to me now, and anybody who still thinks the man is the greatest fighter on the planet is out of touch with reality. For christ sake, the guy hasn't fought anybody worth a **** for almost 5 years!!! Let's look at his fights since he fought Cro Cop:
Zuluzinho: a 400 pound, fat bag of ****. What a joke...
Mark Coleman: a 78 year old man who hasn't evolved since he started fighting back
in the 1950's
Mark Hunt: the man is a kickboxer, NOT a mixed martial artist. He's lost his
last 5 MMA fights. He's not anywhere NEAR a top HW MMA fighter.
Matt Lindland: he's an aging greco-roman wrestler who belongs at 185, not
fighting at HW. REAL brave of Fedor to fight him...
Hong Man Choi: a nine foot tall sack of garbage. Another joke fight for
Fedor.
Tim Sylvia: Did anybody ever think this guy was any good? He's a bum,
and everybody knows it.
Andrei Arlovski: The man's chin is made of sugar glass. My 14 year old
daughter could KO his *** with one punch.
After all those "great" fights, now he wants to fight the best that StrikeFarce has to offer? The guy is a complete joke, IMO. How anybody can sit there and say he's the #1 HW in the world with a straight face is beyond me.
I think that after everybody saw Fedor's refusal to fight the top guys in the top promotion, a lot of people have lost respect for Fedor, and feel the same as I do.Phinz420, Section126 and Nappy Roots like this. -
At least it's on TV.
But unfortunately it's on CBS. They don't know how to do an MMA show. It's like a cheesy movie rather than an MMA show. They try way too hard. The UFC....they put on an MMA show. -
hopefully they put out a real good under card (or best they can)
does strikeforce have a HW champion?
edit: its overeem......but wtf....why wouldnt fedor get a title shot immediatley? -
cause they gotta have someone for him to fight on their second card on CBS? :wink2:
-
I was tempted.
Really was :)
But no ))
Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
Personally, I stated this before any of the negotiations started, I wanted him in UFC, but i also called that it won't happen. What alot of people don't realize (he pussied out and blah) he is under LEGAL contract with m1, just saying.
Im not here to argue, or to prove anybody wrong, i would feel like 124, trying to argue with all of us, and we all know how that goes :D
I understand why many people don't like him, or like TDP, "hate him". they wanted see what he is all about, and those who didn't watch pride (which is about 90% of ufc fans) wanted to see what the hype is all about. Let's not forget, Dana White a total assclown first time around, just when they bought our pride, calling them crazy *** russian, they have no idea what mma is and blah blah. Dana White has publicly spoken out on Fedor, saying many negative things.
Culturally, Russia and States are very different. Im not sure how to describe it. Disrespecting or insulting people there usually gets people beat up. Perfect example is when i moved here, first grade I went to was 7th. First week of my school in states, i was sent to ALC (alternative learning center, school for "bad" kids) For breaking a kids jaw, 7th grade. Why? Because he made fun of my accent, i called him a *****, and he replied with "your mom" THat instant, without thinking i popped him. Everybody freaked out, adminstrators ran in, and so on. Nobody ever told me, if somebody talks bad about your mother, or anything like that, punch them in the face, i just always thought that way. Same thing happened my freshman year, with the same result, those are the only "real" fights I haver ever been inolved in (saying that, to show that im not a prick who picks fights with people and all that) Of course, after living here for a while, I don't go around punching people in the face after saying "yo momma to me" (my best friends still mess with me cause of that :P) It's just, mindset is different, especially if the oppsoing person disrespects you, and your freinds in on in public. NOW IM NOT SAYING THATS WHY HE DIDINT SIGN, im just showing you one of the possible reasons. Im sure that many people why write it off as BS excuse, ill understand that. Just to put another thing in prospective, sherdog, yahoo, and many other MMA sites have annual "p4p polls" Outside of us, Fedor wins every single one, in US, Sherdog, Yahoo, fan polls, he ran away with those too. I know ESPN did a piece on boxing vs mma all time, He won again. Is he p4p #1? No, because he doesn't fight often enough. Is he best HW? Yes, or I think so. Just like No, section, TDF, or anybody else who doesn't think so :) Many people (including myself, obviously) feel that he has nothing to prove. I truly don't see what he can gain by fighting a 4-2 Brock, or old *** 16-10 Randy. Sure, they might be the "hott" thing on the market right now, but they are not on the same level (flame away :tongue2:) Would it make interesting fights? Yeah it would. Would prove anything? mmm...No. But again, if you are section, TDP, Chris or anyboldy else on this board, think it will.
When TDP listed all those fighters, I cracked up :)) Literally.
I have been watching MMA since about 2002. And before his everyfight, people wrote him off, those people who just want him to lose, and jump on every opportunity to bash him. So here is the list of fighters that TDP listed, BEFORE they fought Fedor.
Zuluzinho - he was 13 and 0 I think before he fought Fedor, all his fights (or like almost all) Were KOs. People were saying something like " Fedor never faced a big guy with KO power like Zulu, he will get KTFOd"
Mark Coleman - "Fedor Was super lucky to win the first time, Mark Coleman was winnig first time, until Fedor got lucky, Mark Coleman will dominate him...
Lindland - "He is lighter, and faster than Fedor, he is also a great wrestler, his quickness will help him beat Fedor"
Hong Man Choi - "He is too big to get submited" We know how that went :shifty:
Tim Sylvia - I loved this one. Fedor never fought anybody with good striking skills *cough*CroCop*cough* Sylvia will utilize his reach and will DESTROY Fedor. Gosh i loved those predictions.
AA - Another good striker, that was supposed to be too quick for Fedor :) Of course, we all know what people say about those guys now.
Bottom line, no matter what anybody says to anybody. People who think he is "ducking' UFC, and Brock will continue to do so.People who don't like Fedor, and will want him to lose, will continue to feel the way they do. And the moment he loses the fight, or like the time with AA, even seem that isn't "winning" the fight, screaming that he sucks and overrated. His loss to Brett Rogers won't change anything. For people who don't like him, it will be a perfect excuse to point a finger and yell "told ya so, overrated" if he wins, people will say "well, he is a can, of course he was supposed to win, sheesh"
p.s.
Chris, I think SF has 3 solid HW guys that I can think of, Brett, Juice...err, i mean Alistar and Werdrum. If they hand title to Fedor, it won't be as fun. THey have a small window, so hell, they milking what they can.
p.p.s.

Mari0k,
I don't hate Fedor. I used to admire him greatly. But I have lost all respect for him now. The fact of the matter is that he hasn't fought a decent opponent since Cro Cop, and worse yet, he hasn't WANTED to. He wants to align himself with a slimy leech like Finkelstein, and in doing so, he seems content to fight cans and collect a paycheck. To me, that is pathetic.
I heard all that BS, too. The above is promotional hype, and haters trying to build up the bums Fedor was fighting - to try and make it seem like they ACTUALLY had a chance against him. You and I both know that what I said about them is the truth...
It pisses me off that the fighter that was the best in the world has allowed himself to become nothing more than Finklestein's puppet, and that he doesn't care if he fights the best in the world. The fact that he doesn't care shows me that he doesn't deserve the respect many give to him.
If and when he decides to start caring about his career - instead of making that parasite Finkelstein rich - and wanting to prove himself against the best in the world, I would once again respect him.
I say good for Overeem. He's got a manager who's looking out for his best interests. I would like to see him come to the UFC and take a run at a REAL title belt. -
Sylvia and AA were supoosed to "destroy" Fedor
Mark Coleman was supposed to beat him.
Hunt, before losing to Fedor, beat Wandy and Cro Cop.
But those guys suck too, right? Because they both have lost their past fights.
Finkledick has been Fedor's agent since day 1. They are close friends. He helped him become Rings champ, and the pride champ. Now the fact that Finkledick is a greedy mofo, and an assclown, I know that.
But to Fedor he is a friend who helped him become the champ. After UFC bought out Pride, and Dana was...well, Dana, he Fedor signed with M1, so even if he wanted, HE CANT FIGHT IN UFC. He is under legal obligation. I think. Why should he sign with UFC? Why? Dana has been nothing but an *******, now that is Dana's general view on public, but thats not the point. People act like he is "obligated" to sign with them.
Until then, they were very real fighters.
Im sorry, I don't see that doing anything for his record. Like I have stated before, people who want to think he is "ducking" brock, will continue to do so. People who think he is the best, will continue to think so. -
Honestly I'll be rooting against Fedor from here on out.
Never thought I'd say that. But he pretty much lost me when he didn't go to the UFC. I don't despise the man, but I'm no longer in his corner. -
I guess i just too stupid to understand why.
And for the record, he legally, couldn't, even if he wanted. -
I know all about the contract and such. But ultimately, Fedor could have made waves and he didn't. He went right along with it. The UFC's deal was insanely good for him and M-1. If Fedor wanted it done, it would have gotten done. It SHOULD have gotten done. They basically wanted the UFC to donate them a successful business of their own.
That's twice now they've played games with the UFC. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice....TrueDolFan likes this. -
Only idiots thought Mark Coleman was going to beat Fedor.
Some people (not me) thought Hunt was going to beat Fedor. I knew there was no damn way a kickboxer was going to beat Fedor. The man just doesn't have anything on the ground for him.
I know about Fedor and Finklestein's relationship. And I'm glad we can agree on what we think about "Finkeldick". (I love that, btw. funny stuff) But dude, Fedor is a dumbass for not being able to see that Finkelstein is a Svengali and a crook.
If Fedor wants to remain relevant in the sport, he IS obligated to sign with the biggest promotion, and that is the UFC.
Personally, I never go by what Wikipedia says. I go by the Sherdog fight finder. Regardless, Zuluzinho is a fat bum who doesn't belong in the same building as Fedor.
I don't think that Fedor is ducking Lesnar. I believe Fedor would have no fear to fight him. I also believe that only Finkelstein stands in the way of Fedor's future. And until Fedor gets out from under his spell, Fedor is going to become less and less relevant in the sport. -
my bad
-
Because it was in the Hunt fight, that I have ever seen somebody even close to submiting Fedor.
He isn't even a crook, that man is just stupid.
Before I answer to bolded, could you please describe to me, from Fedor's perspective the situation.
I understand, I truly understand where you coming from, I just don't think you are willing to look at things from his point of view.
Best way to find champs - tournaments. I agree. UFC had them back in the day, i need to do some research on why they stopped.
I think if Dana would of watched his mouth first time around, we would have seen him in the octagon long time ago.TrueDolFan likes this. -
NOBODY thought that Hunt would have been able to control Fedor on the ground like he did.
From what I understand, Fedor's perspective is this: He sees the guy who's been with him from the beginning, his friend Vadim. He trusts Vadim implicitly, and truly believes that Vadim is doing the right thing for his career. He likely believes that Vadim is protecting him from scumbags like Dana White, who are trying to screw him.
But the fact of the matter is this. It's VADIM that's screwing Fedor! Finkeldick just wants to use Fedor for leverage to brand M-1's name with an established promotion, instead of building a promotion himself. And Fedor is too blind to see it! That's why he's a dumbass, IMO.
That's why I'm so upset that Finkeldick is screwing it up for Fedor. Fedor should be fighting for the HW championship of the world. He shouldn't be wasting his time in a second-rate promotion, fighting cans for a cracker-jack belt.

Fight is tonight at 9 PM ET.
Rogers weighed in at 264. Fedor at 232.
On the undercard, the guy that KO'd Babalu in a minute fights Sokoudjou.
Dan Henderson is working Sokoudjou's corner. Dana says Dan is signing with Strikeforce, but they say it hasn't happened yet.
Dana has said Dan wanted to be the highest paid guy in the UFC (at least his demands fell in line with that).SICK likes this. -
excited for this.....hows the rest of the card? entertaining?
-
-
It's on CBS, so it will be overdone and slightly carnivalized.
At least they have some decent fighters for it. I mean, Fedor on network TV by itself is huge.SICK likes this. -
sooo in your guys' opinion.......
whats better for mma/ufc.....fedor losing? fedor barely winning? fedor dominating?
which one do you think happens? and whats your opinion on the ramifications on each one? -
its on now.

Holy **** what a first round!!!!
2 of the top 3 heavy weights in the world its looking like. -
****....as bad as I hate fedor. He's just a monster
He looked out of shape to -
-
I loled.
Big boy broke his nose with the first jab, Fedor didn't even flinch.
Rogers can't take a big punch. He hit him solid in first, and Brett backed off right away.
Rogers won't make it far in MMA. Fedor landed a solid punch, he turtled up.
I used to like Rogers, due to him being the whole underdog and all.
He was a sore loser :(
Can't say if he was out of shape or not. Early round 2 it ended.
If by "out of shape" he has a rounder than usual belly, than yes, I would agree.
lol -
Who can take a big punch from Fedor? I don't think that's a valid indictment of a fighter. Dude has thunder and lightning in his hands.
Rogers could have handled the post-fight better though. -
I don't know how hard he hits, but if guys who get punched in the face for living, say this guy hits hard, ill believe him.
Overall, a solid card.
I heard alot of boos during the Shields fight, but i loved it. A smart wresler, bjj artist (not a bjj black belt who sits in guard all day) love watching those types of fights. I thought initially that Jake tapped at the end of round 3 i think it was, but he was reaching for the arm i guess.
Big Foot lost, but Wedrum is still an experienced legit top HW, Silva looked alot better than I thought he would. Or Fabricio was bad. Pick one. lol
Mousasi is a warrior, and ive been saying that.
No surprises there.
I think I want to see him in UFC more than Fedor.
He will be able to do some moving around weightclasses, possibilites are endless there, due to the much deeper pool of talent. -
NVm, ill edit that.
After rewatching ill retrak my statement of Rogers not being able to take a punch, he ate few. He looks like isn't used to getting punched. There you go. Thats what i think i meant. Fedor's biggest problem is that he bleeds easily, everybody knows that. So when somebody big, especially rogers gets on top of him, and start donkey koing away on him, Fedor might get a serious cut. The thing on his nose looked pretty nasty. -
pretty good fight card tonight. Its a shame he didnt get the national spotlight three years ago but Fedor isnt what he used to be. they'll protect him since he's a cash cow but eventually someone will wreck him. still whoever put together that fight card should get a bonus. great debut for CBS
-
Fedor has always cut. But he got hit with a pretty strong punch to open that thing up. Had to be broken. Just happened to be the first landed shot of the night.
Is it just me or does Fedor look like he's getting even flabbier? He weighed in at 232, he's been heavier before. But that gut looked even softer this time. I know he got married last month, so perhaps that's it.
I thought it was a good card too. All the booing in the Mayhem fight.....I enjoyed it too. The technical aspect of that fight is lost on a lot of people I guess. Miller was impressive in that Shields had dominant position for what seems like the entire fight, yet you never felt like Miller was in trouble. Submission defense is one thing, but Shields has to strike from the mount.
15 more seconds and Miller probably ends that fight in Round 3.
And credit to CBS. Seems like they've learned from the EliteXC go-around. Seemed like they were trying to put on an actual MMA event. Much less 'hype' and buildup, stuff outside the ring. The focus was on the fights. The level of competition was much better, which helps. And Gus Johnson, a guy that overdoes pretty much everything, was actually good IMO. He was prepared. -
As if there were any doubt, Fedor's nose was indeed broken. Also injured his left hand (I'm guessing perhaps on that left hook he hit Rogers with earlier that put him down). Had a soft cast all the way up to his elbow after the fight.
-
-
GREAT CARD.
entertaining fights....but Rogers couldn;t take Fedor's best.
to beat fedor...you have to smother him and try to win a GNP stoppage.
His standup is devasting for two reasons....he can take a 2x4 to the face and maybe flinch...at worst...and if he lands ONE good punch...the fight is over.
I am digging the beer belly though....good for him..good for all of us.SICK likes this.
