Yes it does
-
As opposed to a flimsy clammy gayish hand shake? I would hope so.
-
Yes it does, though some people go a little overboard. I think there's a difference between a good firm handshake and thinking you should try to outsqueeze the other person. A couple of times I've found myself thinking I should be challenging them to an arm wrestling match or something.

I give a firm unflinching handshake and these goofballs all try to outsqueeze me...so I apply more pressure.....he then applies more pressure....it is ridiculous.TheAnswer385 likes this. -
After an interview I usually just slap the interviewer on the butt and tell him good game.Pink_dove, TheMageGandalf, alen1 and 5 others like this. -
the up high, down low, too slow method hasn't landed me too many jobs...

I just have sex with the wife of the hiring manager.......then they know who is boss
-
Okay... I really don't say who's stupid, I say something else... I just don't want to offend anyone like lucky. -

That is Phillip Seymore Hoffman's uncomfortably gay character in the movie Boogie Nights.
He asked Mark Walberg if he wanted to see his car....he then tried to make out with Waldberg. -
Seems kind of silly to give the hand shake the credit. I'm sure it has to do with the type of person who gives a firm handshake vs a flimsy one. A person with confidence will give a firmer handshake, and probably perform better in an interview because of that confidence...
-
I believe it is just saying it helps....it shows confidence rather than speaking it....actions speak louder yadda yadda -
Aw man, that'd be awesome!
I wish I could see the face of the hiring manager should someone ever actually do that. -
i was shaking the hand of a customer today and he had the little limp/gay handshake. man that was awkward

i guess is amateur comedy hour round' here ;)

True.
Just don't overdo it; I once interviewed a guy who squeezed my hand so hard he actually hurt me...and I'm no delicate flower.
I just kept thinking, if I hire this guy he's going to be an insurance liability because of all the broken-hand lawsuits the company will have to settle!
