Fixing the offense....it can't be this easy.

I forgot to mention that Warmack will clearly be the BPA available at our current draft position. I don't see any teams ahead of us taking a Guard.

I love to see Warmack in a Dolphins uniform. Our line needs to be upgraded and we need play makers at the reciever postion. I love to see Wallace over Jennings myself.

I'm hoping the Fins sign a FA to upgrade a skill position on offense. I just don't see a WR or TE worth selecting with the 12th pick in this draft.

Please not with the 12th pick! I think he'll be available at the bottom of the 1st round. Irish should try to trade back in the 1st round if he believes Keenan will be a critical piece on the offense.

Theres a few different ways to approach it depending on which FA's we sign. The FA's we sign would determine who I want draft pick wise.

Theres 5 signings I want, in no particular order:
1. Mike Wallace - True vertical threats are extremely rare. Ones that that can catch the ball with regularity are even more rare. Theres maybe 5. Wallace is one, and hes young enough to develop and grow with this team. He also brings experience in a winning environment
2. Greg Jennings/Brian Hartline/Dwayne Bowe - Just 1 of the 3 to work the middle of the field reliably. Which ever would be cheapest.
3. Dustin Keller or Jared Cook - We need a TE who can start and be a factor in the passing game. Both qualify. Keller is my preference because hes not coming off a serious injury and hes a better player overall imo.
4. DRC or Brent Grimes - I dont want Smith resigned since hes got stone hands. Guy reminds me of the receiver in The Replacements that needed crazy glue. Grimes is a serious threat to catch the ball even coming off a serious injury. DRC is as well.
5. Sebastian Vollmer or Gosder Cherilus or resigning Randy Starks - I really want Levitre but hes getting Carl Nicks money and Im not prepaid for a guard to get that. These 2 should be in the 5-6M per range and solidify RT. if it goes higher just use the money to resign Starks.

Im prepared to let Long, Bush and Smith walk.

Im cool with Jonathan Martin there. An offseason in the weight room should have him playing above average at LT next year. Thats about what Im looking for. I think he can develop further as well as he gets stronger so long as he stays this agile. Hes got great feet.

We've got to stock up on skill position players in both free agency and the draft. We HAVE to.

WR, CB, TE, S, DE (pass rusher). Get guys who can make plays on the ball both offensively and defensively.

Dat o-line..

I mean, if you go out in free agency and sign one of Mike Wallace/Greg Jennings and one of Dustin Keller/Jared Cook and then draft someone like Dee Milliner in the first round that is a major improvement from a skill position standpoint.

Or sign Greg Jennings, Dustin Keller and draft Cordarrelle Patterson.

Or sign Mike Wallace, Jairus Byrd and draft Tyler Eifert.

Or trade for Calvin Johnson and Darrelle Revis and sign Jairus Byrd and Greg Jennings.

The possibilities are endless!

Niners are better than us at literally all 11 positions on offense.

A superstar WR would guarantee us the playoffs. Anything else we decide to upgrade would simply add on to that.

I think Jennings is just too old to be the dynamic player we need. I think if you can sign Jennings you still need to draft a young dynamic WR, which leaves us with trying to fill in the existing gaps with less than dynamic draft picks. Ireland has to hit on those or it won't matter that much, we might be improved but will it be enough ?

Martin led the NFL in hurries allowed. I don't think we can assume that an offseason in the weight room will make him above average. I think a big jump for him would put him at average, which I would be satisfied with for the time being.

Right but a lot of that happened with him learning a new position, RT, that frankly he doesnt have the body to play. RT is typically a run blocking power tackle which is not Martin's game at all.

Martin actually gave up more hurries as a left tackle. At right tackle he gave up 30 hurries in 11 games (2.7 hurries per game). At left tackle he gave up 17 hurries in 5 games (3.4 hurries per game).

I really hope he makes a big leap but I think the far more likely jump would be for him to jump to average, which would be a good start.

Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem with Patterson. At all.
Also wouldn't mind Stedman Bailey.

It sounds good in theory but we already have spent high draft picks on the OL without much to show for it .The OL can be developed from lower round picks or FA .

We need more skill position players with our high draft picks IMO.

Sounds great. Now all you need to impliment is a read option offense and have a QB that can run and throw like Kapertnik.

Harbaughs offense in SF and the players he has in there has NFL defenses reeling on their heels. But alas, ESPN and most NFL idiot talking heads persist that the read option offense would never work in the NFL. LMAO.
