Tweets of interest
Starks and Grant in the 2-4-5 is much better than what Nolan had to work with in Denver in 09, heck Starks and Soliai would be as well.vt_dolfan likes this. -

Tristan Davis is seeing run time, camp fodder? A lot depends on his Returner abilities.gafinfan, Disnardo, Ohio Fanatic and 1 other person like this. -
What is the world coming to? JA can get burned by a UDFA Wr, then do a good job on Brandon Marshall? -
That is two sacks for Grant:

HERE IS A PLY BY PLAY
This is the quick reaction post from today's scrimmage at Dolphins camp.
Bottom line?
I wasn't impressed by anyone other than Jake Long, Cameron Wake and Nolan Carroll. Read the play-by-play and you might understand why. The most impressive wide receiver was Brian Hartline.
Third-team offense versus third-team defense:
Tyler Thigpen is at QB
First down from the 25: Three yard rush by Lex Hilliard
Second down from the 32: Deep sideline pass to Marlon Moore. He jumps for the ball, its in his hands, but he drops the ball.
Third down from the 46: Thigpen connects with Patrick Turner for six yards.
First down from the 49: Tristan Davis gains four yards.
Second down from the 49: Nolan Carroll jumps a quick-out, tips the ball and linebacker Charlie Anderson plucks it out of the air for a turnover.
Third down from 40: Thigpen throws an out pattern right to Carroll. He drops the interception.
First down from the 37: Play-action. Jason Allen breaks up a pass to Julius Pruitt in one-on-one coverage.
Second down from the 27:. Handoff to Lex Hilliard loses two yards.
Third down from the 14: Offside defensive line and Thigpen pass to Moore is incomplete.
Second down from the 11 yard line: Pitch to Tristan Davis for a gain of four.
First down from the 7 yard line: Center Andy Hartline fires off a low snap from shotgun and Thigpen misses it. Blame both.
Third down from the five yard line: Bootleg right and Pruitt catches a TD pass in the back corner of the end zone beating Jason Allen

I really like the the DLine Depth at this point. If I were Sparano, my group would be:
RDE - Odrick, Douglas, Grant
NT - Starks, Soliai
LDE - Langford, McDaniel
Not sure if I'd keep more than that on the 53 man, but if so, you can probably boil it down to Ryan Baker or Lionel Dotson. Phillip Merling being healthy would've made this unit's competition really something. Obviously you can mix and match the personnel with packages to get the right guys on the field, which Nolan seems to love. -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
-
The really great proposition is, all of those players are well over 6'1, those are some massive human beings all the way across the defensive front 7, with Wake as the little guy at 6'1 255ish

With Injury #3 on that same shoulder, the joint may be structurally fine, recovery is a different matter,.gafinfan likes this. -

I wonder, if hypothetically Grant does get suspsension and is gone the first 4 games of the year, you give that spot on the 53 man to Baker and see what you have in him until Grant's back.
Obviously Grant's role is a little different. I see him as a nickel/dime pass-rusher that plays in the 4-2-5, and 3 man nickel/dime packages where as you have guys like Langford, Douglas, and McDaniel that are more 1st and 2nd down guys.
Thought Wake was 6'3"? Wake has been impressive as well thus far based on everything I've read. I really think the trenches are shaping up nicely, which is a staple of the Parcells team. Still interested to see if Thomas and Jerry can hold down the G spots over Procter and Incognito. -
Sparano Island will get your butt into shape, he's tied last yr's walk off number with 2 players (B Johnston, Aj Wallace) that camp must be really tough. -
-
I'm interested to see if Grant has anything for Big Jake?
-
Nice to see our DBs handle Marshall, I am not worried about our O at all. -
I've heard Greene shut down numerous interviews over the years. -
Recall Anthony Armstrong did well in OTA's, when the pads are put on, he disappeared? Roberto Wallace hasn't disappeared one bit.
What makes him so interesting is the White/Thiggy battle at Qb means when the 2nd and 3rd offense is on the field in the preseason, Wallace will be that unit's #1 Wr..both Qb's are going to be looking for him. -
