From Profootballtalk.com, Norm Chow made the statement above. I know that many believe that Young has a lack of IQ for his position and that could hinder his potential. He says "everyone knew who I wanted," clearly referring to Matt Leinart. He favored Leinart because he coached him but now Leinart is fighting for his starting job where Vince Young is the clear starter in Tennessee. I know that the QB situations are different because Warner is a better backup and/or player than Kerry Collins. However, when its all said and done, Vince Young might end up being the better player than Leinart. This pick could turn out to be the right pick for Tennessee.

Cutler on the other hand has been amazing. -
Ranking the big three from that year's draft (06 if I'm correct) I would say its Young, Cutler, and then Leinart. This is purely based off team success (up until now) which no one can deny that Young just makes plays and helps his team win. He may not be a true QB but he wins and that's the real measure of a QB in the end. Cutler however has the most potential to have the best career.

I don't think you can base a QB's progress thus far off of his teams success. You look at Cutler's situation in Denver. He's got no defense and one good WR on offense. Looking at Young in Tennessee, he doesn't have much to work with on offense like Cutler but he has a very good defense that wins a lot of games for him imo. And lastly for Leinart, he's last out of the three. He's made the least progress (partly because of the injury last year) but is fighting for his job right now and has top weapons on offense. I think Cutler is ahead of the other two. I'd rank it Cutler, Young, Leinart.

Based on all the factors that he has going for him now, Cutler will probably go into the elite group of QBs this season. I'm talking about the Palmer class just under Brady-Manning.

Cutler was my favorite of the three QBs in 2006, but I'm not sure about that. To get in the tier just under Brady/Manning would require around 4000 passing yards and 28+ TDs. I think it's more likely he lands in the Anderson/Roethlisberger tier, which is one step down.
