I hate people! When I got back to my car after lunch someone had backed into my bumper and drove off. It looks like there was a trailer hitch that went through! Of course they didn't leave a note or anything so now my new MINI has a freaking hole in the front bumper!

Nope. I'm 99% sure it was the truck that was parked across from me. It was a work truck, so I'm sure they didn't give 2 ***** about it.

That really sucks, man, I feel for ya. The sad part is more often than not whoever it is will drive away if they can. I just park way the heck out there and hope dad isn't teaching his teenager how to drive in my parking lot that day. Even then I have a few small scrapes and dings as parting gifts.

Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey are by far the worst drivers I have ever seen. I never seen people so regularly run 'early reds' anywhere else

Ever been to Miami? Worst I've ever seen are here, but I haven't been up that way in a long time, like 1983 or so. Makes me want to slap them silly for their bad driving habits.

Do you happen to have Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD) on your insurance?

It would be listed on your policy as UMPD. It has a deductible, too, but generally, it doesn't count against you, as a Collision claim might.

Sorry to hear about your car brother.

As for the worst drivers in the country, there was a study done that proved Florida has the worst drivers.

Right, but UMPD can have a lower deductible, is not assessed as an at-fault and can be held on a policy without Collision being in force.

i see. i left the car insurance biz a few yrs back. i always thought UM was used for excess medical bills/propert damage if the at fault party's basic insurance was exhausted

To bad they don't equip cars with cameras, so when they are bumped they take pictures.

Actually I have, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Germany, Mexico, Bermuda, etc. But Miami has the worst drivers I have seen. From all over the world, they all drive by diff rules, and it's really crowded, which makes it all worse. There are places where I saw a few really bad drivers, but the per-capita ratio here is why I think it's the worst ever. In most places at least there is some predictability as they mostly live by the same rules of the road, but this is a real melting pot, and the drivers test is a joke. You don't even have to take a road test, it's in the parking lot. The advice to a new driver on passing: Now that you have a license and can legally drive on the streets, pay a driving instructor and practice! I know this for a fact as my ex was given this speech when she got hers.

I don't know about Texas but in Michigan with full coverage if you get clipped while you're parked they waive the deductible.I hope that's the case for you.
