I start every season eating a publix sub at kickoff.

We BBQ week 1 here! But no real superstitions though, I only aim to have my butt in a chair and the game on week in, week out!

 

I usually find myself alone by the fourth quarter not even the dog stays in the room until the games over unless I yell touchdown then he runs in and gives me a high five. Smart dog.

Thought the orange jerseys were a winning superstition but that's been dismissed.

 

This year will be the first year I won't wear my crusty old Dolphins hat that I've worn ever since probably 1986...gotta switch it up!

 

I don't have a superstition, but my wife does. Hers is to leave before the cussing starts. lol...

 

I'm running out of shirts and running out of money. Wear one until the Dolphins lose, and then you got to find another one.

To save on the money of buying a new shirt, I'll wash the losing shirt three times to get the losing stank-age out of it before wearing it to watch a game again (or wearing it for any other reason).

 

Thats pretty intense man.

 

Always wear my dolphins basketball shorts on game day. I updated to the new Nike ones this year and I'm impressed lol. Oh and I do a random pushup regimens when we need big plays like 3rd down and in between quarters lol.

 

I have sex with Lucky at half time.

If he swallows, we win.

Past few years, he's been a real bastard.

I heard he doesn't swallow either. Doesn't spit. Doesn't swallow.

Just keeps it all in his mouth and walks around, doing his daily stuff.

Goes to sleep at night and when he wakes up it's gone. Figures it's the *** fairy.

 

What an unforeseen turn for the odd. No foreshadowing or anything.

I have to watch kick-off. If I'm running late or some extraordinary situation forces me to miss kick-off, I feel like the game is jinxed.

Ever taken a nap and the alarm didn't go off and you miss the entire first half ?That's happened to me twice. Thank goodness for TiVo but I still feel like the world may end.

Also, if anyone enters the room and immediately after unforeseen disaster strikes, they gotta leave the room. This sucks for me when we have company cuz then I have to leave the room.

 

Up early, crock pot/smoker or some other kind of cooking contraption is being prepped or started....

I never....and I mean NEVER wear dolphins stuff of any kind during the game. I feel its a jinx. Hasnt been working, so I am mixing it up this year *prays to the god he doesnt believe in* I hope it works. Going to wear the good old ZT jersey......until my aqua Tannehill arrives...

Maybe thats it? Been wearing the cursed jerseys of the past....need new gear.

Also, I am drinking heavily and yelling so much the neighbors hold their phones with 911 dialed ready to hit "send" until 4pm at the earliest...

 

I've been taking a shot of Kracken rum after every Cam Wake sack for awhile and then I do the Kracken move and sit back down.

 

I've been drinking my coffee out of the same Dolphins cup on gamedays the last 10 years. Wait a minute...maybe I'm the jinx?

 

Same here, only my wife knows just to go away and find something to do until the game is over. The cat won't stay in the room either because I get loud and tend to jump up and down depending on what happens. It's a lonely way to watch games but I actually prefer it that way.

No superstitions, don't believe in them, unless you call wearing one of my Dolphins shirts for each game a superstition.

 

The Fins have not won crap since 1973… so if you were not doing whatever it is your doing now in 1973 then STOP it because whatever it is you are doing is causing the Fins to lose...

shesh… this is not rocket surgery...

I wear the same dolphin t shirt if we win and a different one if we lose . Yes , over the years I have accumulated a lot of fin t shirts.

 

First, I turn on the TV. Then, I make sure it is on the right channel. Then I sit down in a comfortable spot. Then I watch the game. If the team does something good, I express my approval. If they do something bad, I feel sad. If the officials make a bad call against us, I call them every name in the book and threaten their well being. Then, when the game is over, I log in to www.thephins.com and see what everyone else thought about the game.

Edit: Oh yeah, first I remember to wake up before 10AM, Left Coast time. :yes:

 

The mug is fine. The drink should be upgraded though. Perhaps something that contains 40% alcohol is in order?

 

Hmm..maybe you're right. In my younger days coffee mixed with whiskey did provide copious amount of feelgoodnicity :)

They call that Coffee Royal. I'm not a coffee drinker, per se, but like Kahlua and chocolate covered coffee beans. Go figure. My dad used to always like for us to sit near one of his timber cutting buddies at the football games, because that guy always brought a thermos of Coffee Royal and was willing to share. He thought nothing much was better than some Coffee Royal on a rainy cold Friday night.

Whatever Dolphins apparel I am wearing that particular day is gonna get worn again and again until we lose. The apparel gets switched every loss, and stays the same as we win.

 

I'm starting a new tradition this year...I made a Jeff Ireland voodoo doll (Well my daughter made it), and everytime we lose, I'm gonna tear off a peice of his body and feed it to my dog (Shula) The doll has two arms two hands two legs a head and a body.... On the 8th loss I'm going to set his head on fire in a ceremonial finish.

If the doll makes it thru the season, give Ireland his extension. If not ..... FIRE him ! :up:
