Look I like Cribbs but I dont see us giving up Ginn for him unless Cleveland includes a pick and Cribbs. Afterall we are talking about KR/PR not a solidfy WR. So if this trade is Ginn for Cribbs straight up I think it is BS.
Also I think if Cribbs comes to Miami somone has to be cut, who do you think gets the axe?

Not happening.
Cribbs is a nice compliment to Ginn and vice versa, but trading one for the other puts us in the exact same position.dolfan7171, Kanye West, Tone_E and 3 others like this. -
Joshua Cribbs -
Rumors fly of Josh Cribbs to Miami
Florio basically puts his own spin on the story by "Big C." Follow the link in the PFT article to read it.
Really don't know why he assumes Ginn would go..... -
If they want Cribbs its got to be because they don't want Ginn on PR/KR duties. Period. Cribbs has a total of 25 catches, 192 yards in his career since 2005. In my opinion, asking about Cribbs just shows how much they think of Ginn on WR duties.

I'd rather keep what we have and add to it...

25 recs for 192 yards and 1td.
thats cribbs career stats as a wr. why on earth would this even be a consideration?SICK, CashInFist, BuckeyeKing and 2 others like this. -
That would be a terrible trade, unless they add a second round pick to it. And we know they're not doing that.

I need a gif of henne to teddy bomb..
Anyone who, from the route to the catch, has that kind of talent, to make that kinda play...aint goin nowhere.
The body control, the still of the head, the turning of the upper body while still maintaining full speed, the basket catch....no, he stays in this offense..integral part. This offense needs that speed.dolfan7171 likes this. -
For the record, how many picks do we have next year? We know how much this FO likes holding on to them, so why are we considering the trade?
Also, this guy just threw this Ginn for Cribbs move out there. This is pure speculation at best and a way to fuel the fire. I seriously doubt Miami is moving Ginn right now. And why would the Browns even want Ginn? They have a good-looking young receiver in Mossaquoi. To complement him? Sounds fishy to me..... -
Always seem like the Browns want to milk us for everything we got. We inquired about Edwards they wanted Brown, we want their KR they want Ginn. I dont think so. If the deal gets done you give them a 4th and they better be happy.

Uuuuhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm......
Everybody knows I am a HUGE Ginn basher.
BUT:
There is zero chance of this happening unless Cleveland throws in a handful of draft picks as well. We all know that's not gonna happenNyPhinfan likes this. -
We apparently dont have a 5th rounder, so we would most likely have to give up our 5th. I personally prefer Cribbs ahead of Parrish who is the other KR/PR on the market.

if they want him, the TriFecta will work something out
Roth & a draft pick?
whatever...
somehow, I don't see this happening
what I'd like to see is for GinnJr to live up to his half the contract
the deal: he was supposed to be the next Hester & our deep WR threat
I say: make it so or trade him straight up for a proven bull
we've got a lot of work to do on player development
have seen nothing of Nalbone, Turner & very little of White on offense
& Wake is just emerging on the defense with nearly nothing heard from Clemons
Hilliard, Davis & Smith all need time. we have our work cut out for us in 2009 -
We also have another pick coming from KC for the OL we sent to them this pre-season (I think it is going to be their 6th but I am not sure).
So we have 9 picks. -
I can only think of using him in the WC. Cribbs was a QB in college would add another dynamic in to it although I would not be in favor of this trade.
-
they will do what is in the best interest of the team
-
I'm not sure about this either
But you can't deny he fill a major need on ST. And fills it well... -
We should have traded for Brandon Marshall when his stock was low.
Now, I'd rather wait and see how the offseason shakes out on any big time WR. -
It's pure speculation, and not even really good speculation at that.
Florio is working on the assumption that Cribbs would make Ginn redundant. Cribbs is a return guy, and Ginn is only slated to be on returns because of injury to Patrick Cobbs.
Them not wanting Ginn to be a return guy is theoretically what has put them for the market for Cribbs in the first place. -
lol, does anyone need any further proof they roll coverages to Teddys side?? there were 3 peices of toast behind him. including to some a top 5 CB and Safety. a long with another safety that Ryan got from Baltimore that played pretty well last year(specially against us)dolphan117 and unluckyluciano like this. -
Ginn for Cribbs straight up would be a spectacularly awful trade for our team.
It makes little sense shopping Ginn when he's had 2 weeks with Henne as his QB.
This seems to me like folks adding 2 + 2 together and coming up with 5. -
-
Why would you trade a player that has a lot of potential, is scratching the surface of his potential after Henne started playing, AND you're not even paying him that much compared to a lot of WRs.
I dislike the "play players just to play them" and "trade players just to trade them" theory that people have... -
-
This thread has both angles. -
Seems like Sparano does not think Ginn has the ability a guy like Cribbs has to return kicks. While in Ginn's Rookie season he showed ability he has not since and last year when he started the season at KR he did not look good. Plus why risk your only deep threat at the position to injury. I dont want Ginn gone I actually think he has potential, but he has to strap on a pair.
Also there is a Market for Cribbs. Oakland, Indy & Kansas City have contacted Cleveland -
fortunately, we have a very competent FrontOffice that is on top of every possible aspect of the NFL today & will make the right decision in respect to our team. Everything else is banter & speculation.
personally, I don't think there will be any deals brokered @ this junction in the road, so much for my bantering & speculations.:sidelol: -
That would be a horrible trade. Ted Ginn is a good wide reciver he just has not proven to be a number 1 yet or worth the 9th overall pick yet. Trading Ted Ginn for Josh Cribbs would be a big mistake.
I could see us trading Greg Camarillo or Davon Bess up for Josh Cribbs but I dont see us giving up either of those two either. -
i have been negative on ginn....but i would punch a baby if this trade happened. ****ing completely moronic.
god it makes me sick even thinking about it.....ginn is gunna flourish with henne baby!jdang307 likes this. -
Don't punch a baby. It's not the baby's fault it was drafted where it was

They seem to think we are giving up ginn because we are getting a return guy...Stupid football news (pft) sites think Ginn is our returner and we are replacing him so that means he is gone.
Never would we do this trade unless THEY give US Cribbs and picks.
