Although I think you'll disagree with me that the Dolphins do not make this game as close as it was if Nugent wasn't hurt, the youngsters played a good game and made a nice try at the end. The Great Hype (Ginn) was invisible though and thats not a good thing if Miami is going to win some games this season. If Nugent is healthy, in my mind, the Jets have their PAT and that FG (he got hurt before swinging his leg to kick the ball) and the Dolphins don't get to start drives at the 40, 45 yard line thanks to weak kicks by Graham and Nugent when he returned.
Oh well, time will tell.
December 28th MIami will be trying to keep us out of the postseason. I didn't want to say it, but I'm going to do, and I know you all will disagree, but Miami was lucky to have it 20-14 with our Kicker being hurt and killing our Special Teams and Offense. The Jets also would've started off in better field position after we stopped you after the KO's that started Miami at the 40+. Oh well.
Coles also dropped an easy touchdown pass. Or maybe Brett threw under a bit, either way, if they had more than two days to work with each other, thats a TD.
What ifs can only get you so far, right?
20-14 Jets win. Dolphins played tough. Good game.
I'll leave you guys alone for a while, but only after a slight shot:
Ricky & Ronnie who? Thomas Jones baby!

Well the Jets now get the officials with Favre. So many blown holding calls on the Jets and that horrible Def PI call on 3rd down that led the Jets to a Thomas Jones TD run.
-
Honestly you should thank your lucky stars he got hurt. It would have been a long field goal attempt, maybe you go for it who knows, but I doubt it. Even assuming he makes it, it would have been 14-13 in our favor.

That prayer by Favre for his 2nd TD was ridiculous. Without that, what's the score?
-
As long as you are doing if's and's or but's....
That TD lob by Brett was pure luck...IF we had knocked it down or intercepted it, different game.
IF Nugent was still able to kick we may have returned one for a TD.
IF the ref would have made the call after the Favre let the play clock run out at least on two separate occassions, the Jinks would have had fewer points.
AND, the jets did win, fair and relatively square...but you are a veteran team supposedly ready to make the playoffs, whilst the Phins are a totally rebuilt team with more rookies and 1st time starters playing than Damion Woody has body odor. Not a good sign, from your perspective, for the rest of the season (and the foreseeable future) is it?
Good game, anyway....it was fun to watch and typical Jets/Phins football -- down to the wire. I have many memories of Richard Todd and Wesley Walker haunting my Sundays. But I also remember a fellow named AJ Duhe wrecking your season single-handedly.

Please leave, your backhanded attempts to rip the Dolphins are getting old. A few penalties go Miami's way they win the game.

I'm going to briefly set aside my Jets hatred to say that it takes somebody with character to refrain from gloating and start a thread named "good game".
My Jets hate will now resume. ****ing Jets.calphin likes this. -

It was a good game. both teams missed some opportunities. I hate Favre even more now for that TD so Stockley, or whoever that phantom was that appeared in the exact right spot to catch that pathetic pass attempt. I hope Favre gets hit by a bus!!!
But hey, Tom Brady is injured, thats good news for everyone!!!!!! That prick deserves it!The Aqua Crush likes this. -

Lowery's a heck of a player, but Jets fans should be counting their lucky stars today. -
Dang, Gish....4 hours in the bar made you a bit surley.

Props for actually being a classy Jets fan.

WE made to many dumb mistakes that cost us. Especially burning 2 TO on 1 drive early in the second half, and or Jake Long with his Tripping and holding call which each play resulted in a first down by Pennington. JETS GOT LUUUUUCKY.
-
Does not matter what you think or say.Good call on the pass interference that gave you a 1st down on that long 3rd down.It gave you the points you needed to win.Fins had a chance at the end, but could'nt do it.
Very good game.I'm pissed but not a poor sport.As they say,a wins a win. -
Props for being classy. :)
I think the Jets got lucky at the right times today, but they were also the better team.
It wasn't some great throw on that lob TD. That was Favre just throwing up a duck on 4th down and Renaldo Hill inexplicably leaving his man as Favre threw. :tantrum:
And Henning calling a pass on 3rd and goal from the 3, and subsequently forcing another throw on 4th down.....coming away with no points really hurt.
NY exposed a lot of our flaws today. Hopefully we'll get better and mature. The Jets look like they're already a good ways along. -
As far as Ginn, he wasn't getting passes thrown his way. The downside of having Penny on this team is the fact that Ginn's speed won't be properly utilized, the Jets were cheating the run all day because of his weak arm. That isn't a reflection on Ginn at all IMO.
For whatever reason we didn't try to keep pounding the ball on the ground. Ronnie gets better as the game move along, if he isn't getting touches then he isn't going to be effective, simple as that. Miami has to find a way to balance the carries between Ricky and Ronnie or else they are both going to be ineffective, neither one will be able to get into a rhythm.
So as much as the Dolphins did to shoot themselves in the foot today, they were one completion away from winning the game. Not bad for a team that's in year 1 of a rebuilding process, especially against a team that is supposed to be a playoff contender. -

I will say this about Ginn.....
It's too bad David Martin got absolutely whored by Calvin Pace on what would have been that flea-flicker. Ginn was 20 yards behind the defense.like2god likes this. -

But again, he shouldn't be held responsible for what the people in the stadium did, that's silly. If Miami fans acted up today, would you be willing to be held accountable for their actions? -

the sad thing is that of the 10 games to go this week so far, we are the only home team to lose :pity:
at least cleveland might join us in that -
I don't know, I never had any problems with 124. When I signed up for JN, he welcomed me nicely. I talk to him on AIM and he's a good person. He may say things you don't like but its his point of view. We all say things that are misinterpreted and that may be the case here. Like I said, I never had any problems with him but that's just me.

bottem line is we had to many holding calls and such, and just bad football at times, we need to work on the little things and it will get better. plus the bad pass interferance call and that crazy td favre just blinly tossed up. we could have won but did't time to get the cards now.

I think we should be happy and encourage the fact that rival fans feel comfortable posting here, it makes the conversation that much better as long as people can set the emotional letdown of this loss to the side. :wink2:
