Google unveils free browser Chrome

Later today Google will enter the browser marketplace and you will be able to download what looks like a ground breaking new web browser called 'Google Chrome'. It appears to have some very nice features and if Chromes multiple process architecture can beat the way Firefox hangs on some web pages, and it doesn't suffer from the flood of memory leaks that Firefox does then I'm all for it.

I liked the comic book. I will be downloading and trying this tonight.
Thanks Celtkin!
I'll stick with IE

Very very fast , I like it tbh will consider using it when it gets out of beta
Nice, I kind of like it. Not alot of clutter, seems to be faster. I might stick with Firefox though until this is out of beta... but so far so good. I'll keep using it today and see how it goes. Thanks!
Edit: uh oh... I just noticed that I cant click on my scroll wheel, and have the ability to "slide" right up the page instantly... Thats a bit annoying since its something i do quite often.. oh well.

yeah it is fast. very impressed so far. it automatically imported my firefox settings. one thing is that the hyperlinked keywords while viewing a thread page are not showing up for me.

i like the layout and its very fast. if it ends up doing what the comic says it does it will probably overtake firefox as the best browser.
It does seem pretty fast. Very minimalist layout, which I like. Also very cool how it transported all my bookmarks/saved passwords from Firefox. Thx for the info Celt
Thanks Celt. Its really fast, almost too fast when scrolling. Very basic. The tags to the right of the threads don't appear though.
i like it! Very light weight, and very stylish (even if it is a cleaned up version of Firefox3). My only issue with it, is the inability to scroll up with my touch pad thingy on my laptop. Scrolling down works... But not up. Go figure.
yesssssssssssssssssss

As mor wisely said
another thing that is missing is that there is no search bar to the right of the address bar. i went through and selected some search engines, but im not sure how to even use them in the way i use firefox.
anyone?

type whatever your googling into the address bar. just don't put .com or anything.
or if you want to change search engines, click on the wrench, go to options, click manage default search, and then add whatever search engine it is you want.

Very cool. Thanks for the info
Google wins the Redundant Product of the Year Award. We need this like we need iCab, Netscape, and K-Meleon.
Stick to web services, Google. You're better at it.

i'm liking it a lot so far:confused2: . Has most of what makes Firefox so good plus some. I don't know how secure it is though compared to firefox.

oh ok. i bet this is only for the beta. it really should be just like firefox where you can click the arrow and find the engine you want.
as it is now, if i wanted to search something on wikipedia, it would just be quicker to search "wikipedia" in the address bar, click on wikipedia and then search what i want in the wikipedia site....so there is no advantage
