Slow Saturday so I'm chllin' watching the TV when what appears to be a commercial for a Restaurant pops on, some dude with a butcher's knife is slicing up a beef tenderloin..looked good to..medium rare..yummy.
Anywho, then the camera pans over to a small white terrier looking intently at the beef and I knew what it was:
A "Gourmet" Dog Food commercial for "Chef Michaels" brand of dog food.
Complete with peas and carrots and little chunks of faux beef.
What the heck are people thinking? Do dogs normally eat peas and carrots?
Hmm...Fido has his choice of:
-Rotessire Chicken/w carrots and corn garnishings
-Filet Mignon/w peas and potato garnishings
-Pork tenderloin/w potato and barley garnishings
It looks good enough to serve to guests whom one does not like, just microwave it and turn down the lights..Bon Apetite jerky...
Keep in mind, little Fido will happily eat another dog's crap and then try to lick your face afterwards, what the hell are people thinking when they buy "Gourmet Dog Food"?
I have a dog that I'm rather fond of, however unless a truck load of this stuff spills on the freeway and they offer it for free, my little pooch is going to have to make do with good ol' fashioned Alpo...

Fido wouldn't eat a pea or a carrot, make it look like beef stew and all of the sudden Dog Owners think it is a good idea.. -
I'll grant dogs are omnivorous, however peas and carrots would not be on their menu..unless of course they were attempting to regurgitate something their owner fed them...
See, Fido dug the carrot out of the ground, washed it, cleaned it, and handed it to their owner so they can beg for it, you are absolutely correct Stitch, what was I thinking...:D -
Wonder why carrot and pea baby food is so popular? Because I've sure as hell never seen an infant us a paring knife either, or dig a carrot out of the ground, or wash one, or clean it. Oh, the babies must only like to eat it when they want to regurgitate something else their parents gave them. -
Among other reasons.
As for the baby food..are you being obtuse? -
Your reasoning for dogs not liking carrots or peas is stupid. Just because they can't clean or acquire something on their own doesn't mean they won't enjoy it if it is cleaned or cooked for them.
I even said my dogs like cooked carrots, and two of them like raw carrots. They all eat cooked peas as well, I never tried giving them raw peas. I sure as hell don't eat raw peas. But obviously some dogs do like peas and carrots, just like some people like peas and carrots.
Guess dogs won't like cooked chicken because they can't de-feather the chicken or cook it themselves? How ******ed.Fin D likes this. -
Move to the Midwest and I'll show you that dogs will eat anything, even when it comes to tablescraps.

"..tender prime cuts of filet mignon with fresh faux arugula, your dog will think he is eating at a fine dinning restuarant..."
That'll sell. -
The other point that in the wild, a dog wouldn't seek out peas and carrots..only people bother with peeling and the other things that go along with them to feed them to their dogs..
A Vegan will feed their dog veggie dog food, a Meat Eating dog owner will expect them to be included in their Gourmet Dog Food because that is how "they" eat their pork roast. -

My dogs eat rats (among other critters) that they hunt for. They're very good dogs, seeing as I never ever have to feed them.
And I'd suddenly offered them this stuff, I'm afraid they might just bite my face off.
