Colts have to play Texans and Jags..
Vikings have to play Redskins and Bears..
Rams play Steelers and Niners..
If either the Vikings or Rams could find themselves with that first pick, then there is a much better chance for us to trade up and get Lucky..
Fun to think about, and not entirely crazy considering the opponents those teams have to play..

I'm guessing there's still coal to be shoveled aboard the SFL train? Lucky, you wanna get on that bro? :shifty:
-
I still think the Colts will stick with Manning and trade the pick.
-
And the Colts will take Luck also. -
Dolphin's will f-it up. That's the one thing the team is good at, f-ing things up.

We have Matt Moore though...............

Dolphins wouldn't trade up anyway. Jeff Ireland trade up? Not happening. We'll take whatever scraps are left and go 6-10, 7-9, or 8-8 in 2012. They've sucked all my hope.
-
Hey, we traded up for Danny Thomas didn't we? -
All of you folks who seem to believe is we don't draft Andrew Luck, we're doomed to medicority REALLY don't know football. You're all quick to annoint Luck as the next Brady, Brees or Manning and while I'm not saying he won't be successful (although being a QB drafted number one overall historically hasn't worked out well), take a look at this season's division leaders:
AFC
New England Brady
Baltimore Flacco
Houston QB committee it seems
Denver Tebow
One elite QB out of 4 teams
NFC
New York Giants Manning
New Orleans Brees
Green Bay Rodgers
San Francisco Smith
Okay, you have three elite QB's in that group however collectively? 4 "elite" QB's and 4 average QB's, and all 8 teams are division leaders. Those teams without elite QB's are winning with a complete team package. Let Brady, Brees, Rodgers or Manning go down...like what happened to Indianapolis...those teams would be struggling.
Whether or not we elected to trade up to get Luck, whether or not we drafted another first round QB or whether or not we elected to draft another postiion is less relevent than who Miami "drafts" as their head coach next year.gunn34 likes this. -

I don't want to trade up for Luck. (Though I wouldn't mind if they did) Trading up for RG3 or Barkley would be fine. Or finding a way to get Peyton Manning if he became available. I want them to finally make a splash. I would gladly take 3-5 seasons of Manning, considering I've never seen Miami get past the divisional round.
I don't really trust Jeff Ireland to absolutely hit it on one of the QB's outside the top 3. And it's not really QB why I believe we're doomed to mediocrity...it's because we have been for 10 years...and haven't really been a serious super bowl contender since maybe 1998? I just can't believe the 49ers are going to go 12-4 this season, when the Dolphins haven't been 12-4 or better since 1990.
I'll believe it when I see it. I used to be hopeful every season but that was all crushed. And since we've dropped from around 15th to 28th in attendance, guess I'm not the only one. -
With the colts winning a game, they are one game away from being tied with 2 other teams for the first pick with 2 to play, with those two teams who are ahead of them who have already spent tremendous resources on that position and having good odds that they will lose their next two games because of their opponent..There's some hope there..
I don't forsee us winning any more games, So if there is still a chance for us to be able to aquire the best prospect I have ever watched, I'am gonna go to the end..It has nothing to do with SFL, or any other ridiculous promotion, just a possible scenario being discussed..PhinsRDbest likes this. -
You don't seem to think very highly of the position as do I..nor the player, as do I..nor the impact that kind of player can have at that position and on a franchise, as do I.. -

Sometimes I feel like a whole lot of people here seem to wake up with their knickers in a knot, a hangover from a dozen shots of ***** and moan and three of gripe and vetch, and then get up drink a hot cup of vinegar sweetened with gall to improve their disposition! I haven't heard moaning and cussing mixed like this since great-gramma got constipated and didn't like what the doctor told her.

The problem is that the colts were smart and so were most of the other teams , unfortunately the dolphins screwed themselves up by winning meaningless games. of course the games are not meaningless to the players but in the grad scheme of things we arenot in the playoffs for 13 out 14 years that isnt a good recipe. we need to lose the remaing games and move up or down however that works .
The bottom line there isnt enough good qbs coming out and we need to make a splash instead of drying up . -

This is where you went all silly. With this statement, you actually reinforced the side of phantom that you are debating. Why? Five.... Count them! Five of the eight teams that you listed here have a quarterback that was drafted in the first round. Of the three that remain:
One was the 1st pick in the 2nd round.
One was acquired through DRAFT trade. The total draft cost? A switch of 10th to 8th overall and then the two succeeding years second round picks.
Only one was the potluck stew that would support your position. He only got in the game due to an injury to who? He would have bench fodder unless THE FIRST OVERALL in front of him had not got injured. The coach? He sucked! He was already run out of one town and dare I say that he would have been run out of the second town had it not been for the INJURY.
Which leads me back to this little nugget:
Matthew Stafford - Ditto (except it's three years) and he didn't look too bad this Sunday in a fourth quarter victory.
Jamarcus Russell - Ultimate fail due to attitude. It ain't the skillset. How does that translate to Andrew Luck?
Alex Smith - Ain't he listed in your division winners?
Eli Manning - Ain't he listed in your division winners?
David Carr - Gawd! The expansion team of hell! Is this the pick or is it the expansion team?
Michael Vick - He just kicked the **** out of his....
Tim Couch - Ugh..... Another expansion team.
Peyton Manning - Oh! A HOF'er....What a great place to stop.
What does history show us about 1st overall and quarterbacks again? That's well over a decade listed there and if memory serves me correct there is a HOF'er on the list. There is two division winners (this year) on the list. And there is another that was in the NFC Championship just last year. Is that the history you were discussing?
Indianapolis has the same coach they had last year. What happened?
Bill Bellichek will one day tell the truth. He coached the best on his worst teams in Cleveland.
The Ravens were 5-11 the year before Flacco got there. Got a superbowl winning coach fired by the way......
The Saints were 3-13 the year before Drew Brees got there. Got a coach fired by the way....
The Broncos were 1-4 before Tim Tebow started his first game of 2011.
The Giants were 6-10 before Eli Manning got there. Tom Caughlin was the coach then too.
The point? This is a quarterback driven league. How many players, coaches, analysts, fans, casual observers, or newborn babies have to say it before you understand it?MrClean likes this. -

If only the powers that be have the balls to give up everything for Luck. Even the Rams may take Luck though, and try and trade Bradford. Someone will give up a 2nd for him...probably.
