Let me say right off the bat. This is no "rub it in" thread.
You guys have a hell of a team. Wow. You're mean. You're nasty. And you should be proud.
I know things fell apart the second half for you, but really. Overall, the Phins were played a hard smash-mouth game.
You should especially be proud of that defense. And the secondary? Honestly I thought Brees would have his way with them. I was way wrong. They played shut down almost the whole game.
And I'm going to say one more thing I hope we can all agree on: The Refs SUCK!
Good luck guys the rest of the year. I'm damn glad we're not playing you again for a while.

Classy thread man....
Your team derves much credit in not panicking and sticking with what brought them here....the Saints are going along ways
Hope to see you again this season!!!!HolySmokes, Bpk and Saint Greg like this. -

congrats to you, HS. there's no doubt that the Saints played a big role in the comeback here. they've made those big plays all year.
kudos, enjoy it.HolySmokes and Saint Greg like this. -

Thanks. The announcers said that the Saints need to prove they could come back from behind. They proved that. We need to prove we can hold on to a lead. Ginn may have single handedly lost the game for us. He should have caught the int and should never have dropped that 3rd down pass. Good game.

Congrats to you and your team. This was the wake up call you guys needed to really focus on destroying Atlanta and the rest of your division. it was as well a wake up call for us to stay focused and finish. Overall, I'm glad it was a hard fought clean game without any a lot of ugly penalties. Good luck with the rest of your season.:knucks:

Nice thought man, but the truth is the Dolphins only proved they're a worthless bunch of chokers with a decided lack of testicular fortitude and an even more obvious lack of talent.

I*have*to*admit*that*early*on*I*thought*this*was*going*to*be*a*cocession*speech. You played a great first half and we played a great second half. Field position and turnovers were huge in the first half and I give your defense credit for that. If it went to 31-3 in the first I would've known it was over. Once we cut it to a 14 pt game, I knew we were back in it and once we got it to a one score game I knew the game was ours. Drew threw 3 ints but i'llonly credit him with one.
You guys have played the saints and colts tough. I don't think there's another team that can say that. Unfortunately I doubt we'll play you guys again next year. I'm to the point where I want to play the best. I want the Vikings colt steelers and broncos this year but we don't have them. I know your team is going to be even better next year. Good luck the rest of the way and I'd love to see you again this season. Much respect, finfans.

I agree.
It's also exactly the kind of game the Saints needed and exactly the kind I hope to never witness in person. I only listened to it on the radio and I think my hart stopped a number of times. Henne with a little more time under his belt and a couple more wideouts and Miami will be lethal. I'm glad Miami is an AFC team. Good luck the rest of the way. -
Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?
Thanks, fellas. Had hoped the shoe dropped the other way, but your team did what they've done all year and our team choked away the game.
The Saints are a freaking tough team and I believe they'll represent the NFC in the Super Bowl... ...and represent them well.HolySmokes likes this. -

lol you guys ban opposing fans while you guys are losing and then come here when the victory is nice and secure. saddest bunch of fans ive run across all year. i have more respect for jets, bills and patriots fans. i like you saint greg but your site is messed up

games. Win or lose I planned to give you due respect here since I talked some trash during the week. A blowout by us is the only way I would avoid this site because I wouldn't want to rub it in. Saintsreport is a highly moderated site. Alot of people get banned (see blackandgold.net). I'm sure if a dolphin fan got banned it was for good reason. You have to walk a tight line there. I have an infraction myself. It's not like the spurs board where I got banned before my first post just because saint was in my username. If you didn't know there is alot of tension between SA and NO since they tried tonsteal our team.

Classy post. Saints are going a long way this year - so many weapons on that offense.
Side note - Drew Brees is one of the classiest guys in the NFL. He could have been a Dolphin twice, but it's nice to see him having so much success with the Saints.Saint Greg and HolySmokes like this. -
it's unfair I'd be happy to send it to the owner in your defense and I knownthe siuation would be rectified.

Congrats on the win. We really should have won, but clearly your coach gave a better halftime speech than ours did. With the way we played in the 2nd half, we don't deserve to win... but man... it kills me knowing that we didn't play to our strengths in the 2nd half.
Regardless, I'm sure you'll go far this year.HolySmokes and Saint Greg like this. -
Saint Greg, your team is a lot further along in its development into a champion than ours is. We came out and landed some hard punches and had your guys on the ropes, confused and away from what you normally do, until the end of the first half. Then we made a few errors and let up with the smashmouth, which allowed your guys to clear their heads, catch their breath and get their stuff together. And impressive stuff it is. Then your guys began swinging, brought in your depth (Bell) and began doing what you know works against us and we have no answer for (Shockey). And frankly, we panicked. We were now the ones up against the ropes and didn't have what it takes to come back from it. We had fallen in love with the lead and forgotten who you guys were and what we had come to do. The loss was psychological as much as it was physical. But it showed us a little more of what it takes to be a champion. We'll be seeing you guys again at some point. Thanks for the game and the lesson.

Back on topic, Thanks to the OP, that game stung, but I am proud of my team for going toe to toe with the two best teams in the league, Colts and the Saints. and we had an opportunity in the final two minutes to win either game. We have not had that as fans since the Shula Marino days!
Good Luck Saints, hope you make it to Miami one more time this year! Maybe we will be there to stop ya, but I think we need one or two more pieces first.HardKoreXXX, cnc66, HolySmokes and 2 others like this. -

I'd like to make one more observation. There were some heated discussions this week but I really can't recall reading about my team being referred to as the 'aints'. I don't recall a bunch of talk about how bad the saints were in the 60's and 70's by people born in the 80's. No reference to our number of playoff wins or lack of superbowl wins. This is very rare. It's not just dolphin fans because I have seen all of this at another dolphin board. Many of you used to post there. I think the fact that you saw it there but not here says alot about the folks on this board.

I've always said the Aints. It's meant as ribbing. Nothing more.
The Aints aint got a bad team. Matter of fact they're pretty damn good.... -
-
Anyway, your guys played a helluva game. Your coach said he wanted to take the Saints where they'd not been so far. Man, did they ever!
Some of you believe you blew the game, but, you were IN IT down to the last couple of minutes. The Dolphins have played two of the tough teams in the league down to the wire. There's no shame in today's game. That's my opinion.
Sorry about the loss of your CB. Hoping Sedrick Ellis and Heath Evans are not lost to us. Good luck in the rest of the season!Clipse, dolphindebby, cnc66 and 2 others like this. -

Classy thread. It's unfortunate the way the game went in the 2nd half but what can you do. At least the Saints are an NFC team I guess. And at least we know we can stick with the elite teams, just wish we had better ending results. Good luck with the rest of the season, make sure to beat the Pats, we're gonna need it.
