I watched Get Him to the Greek yesterday, and they were talking about great bands who put out that ONE album that sucks. So, list them!
Stryper, In God We Trust
Judas Priest, Nostradamus
Metallica, St. Anger
Van Halen, that one with Gary Cherone on vocals
Kiss, The Elder
Queensryche, (2 of them) Operation Mindcrime 2, Hear in the Now Fronteir
TNT, Realized Fantasies
Crimson Glory, Strange and Beautiful

yeah im with ether pet sounds was great. I guess its like john coltrane, I personally love his sober days stuff, but a lot of people don't because its real avant garde.

Maybe my using of the word 'suck' in my initial post wasn't the appropriate word. However the other albums I listed suck in comparison to the bands other material. So, are there any other albums put out by a good band that left you scratching your head?

Every Metallica album after Master Of Puppets
Also every Van Halen album without David Lee RothDevilFin13 and adamprez2003 like this. -

I thought And Justice For All was a major let down after Puppets.
-
You had to expect a drop off without Cliff but the bigger let down came with the black album.Colorado Dolfan likes this. -
the only thing I see wrong with and justice for all is the song One, all the rest of the songs are great. Although yeah you can tell they were missing cliff ...........
-
The songs except for a few were transitioning more and more into the mainstream.
I think each album progressively got worse until it hit bottom with St Anger.
Death Magnetic is pretty weak to me not musically but vocal wise. Hetfield's voice used to be the strength of the band but someone along the way told him he had to try to sing (Bob Rock). That is the reason they will never make another record like the first three. -
Turbo - Judas Priest
They put that out two years after Defenders Of The Faith.
Turbo was a huge disappointment to me. -
Yeah, Turbo and Ram it Down were weak, but I have no earthly idea what they were thinking with Nostradamus.

Maiden's Virtual XI.. their worst album. Sure, there are a couple of songs that I like (the Clansman and Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger". But, the bad songs are really bad... can't even listen to em...notably, Lightning Strikes Twice and When Two Worlds Collide. It was Blaze Bayleys last album with the band as their lead singer. I thought he was okay but he's no Bruce... I thought X Factor was a decent album, although his volume level was too low... and then Virtual XI, when it was too high  Still, his voice is not what ruined the album. The cheesy lyrics did that...
Since Bruce has come back I feel they have been really really good. Of course, the two albums after Seventh Son were letdowns, but how could they not be after SIT and SSOASS? Sure, they are "old" but one of the few bands that have been around and haven't lost it IMO. -
Binaural - Pearl Jam WTH were they thinking
-
For the record he was told to change his vocal style years ago. -
I havent heard this, but a friend of mine told me that Bruce's second solo album was "the best Maiden album since Powerslave." And speaking of Maiden, Flight 666 is on VH1 Classic tonight at 11. -
In my opinion, "Riot Act" is the only thing worthwhile Pearl Jam has done since "Vitalogy".Vengeful Odin likes this. -

Foo Fighters album with Times Like These. I don't even remember the name of the album it was so horrible. Dave Grohl has actually admitted its a piece of crap.
